chapter 20
Lu Li looked at Luo Jia Bai inquisitively.
Luo Jia Bai turned his Wristband interface toward him, displaying the Live Stream Room screen. “Look at the top line in red.”
“System Announcement:
After data monitoring and multiple verifications, it has been confirmed that Player Lu Li has not engaged in cheating or hacking.
Instance [Eternal Lost Paradise] has detected abnormal clearance values. The following adjustment will be made: all Players within this Instance will enter Double Points Mode, and Points will be settled upon successful clearance.”
Lu Li also opened his Wristband for a glance. His Live Stream Room was still locked, so he just said, “Oh,” and turned it off.
So it was just a small announcement.
“Will Qi Mingda also receive this notification?” Lu Li recalled Qi Mingda’s arrogant look, with his nose practically growing out of his eyes. “It’d be great if he could get it too. That way, every time he sees me, he won’t keep accusing me of hacking.”
Luo Jia Bai wasn’t sure either. “He probably will, right?”
[Ahhh!! This streamer blessed by fortune still doesn’t get it. It’s not just Qi Mingda who gets the announcement-every Player and Audience member receives it, okay!]
[Damn, after so many years of Necromancer Game, this is only the third time I’ve seen an official System Announcement for proof! Is this what system-certified strength looks like?! I finally witnessed it with my own eyes!]
[Double upon double, so now the streamer has quadruple Points here? So much Spirit Money! What a windfall! Damn, am I seeing things? Suddenly a bunch of Evil Spirit Audience members with noble effects have entered the Live Stream Room.]
[The notification was received. The streamers on the Heavenly Ranking all play terribly, but look at this new streamer.]
Lu Li stood in front of the third section of the Blackboard Bulletin. The chalk words on the board were written stroke by stroke, each exclamation mark brimming with intense emotion.
Chalk dust kept falling.
Luo Jia Bai frowned deeply as he watched, gripping his pen tightly. He took a deep breath and said, “Only one of these is School Bullying? How does this round determine which answers are right or wrong? Who is the judge?”
Lu Li replied, “The teacher. The judge is the teacher of this class.”
There were three incidents listed on the Blackboard Bulletin, each with three different students’ messages.
First Incident-Carefully Prepared Gift
[1: She said herself that she liked small, delicate toys. We went to great lengths to find these gifts for her. Doesn’t she like the Little Mouse and Little Bug? She’s just too sensitive. Every time there’s a quarrel, it’s her fault!]
[2: Nuo Nuo’s chair broke, so we helped her fix it by putting on Glue. Who knew she’d sit down before it dried? She’s so careless and clumsy, her grades are bad, and dropping to second place is what she deserves!]
[3: At the start of the semester, she said she wanted to be best friends with us forever. Now it turns out she’s a liar. Teacher, don’t you agree?]
*
Second Incident-An Accidental Injury
[1: I truly considered her a friend, that’s why I let her buy food and snacks for me. So what if I didn’t pay? I’m just short on cash these days. Next month when my dad gives me allowance, I’ll definitely pay her back! She’s so selfish.]
[2: Last time she bought things, she didn’t ask for money. Why is she asking us for money this time? She’s changed.]
[3: She tried to grab my Wallet, and I got scared and pushed her away. She bumped into the desk herself. Maybe she even hit her head on purpose to make it bleed, just to blackmail my parents for compensation. She’s so scheming. I was just careless! Teacher, don’t you agree?]
*
Third Incident-Stolen Candy
[1: So what if I took a few pieces of her Candy? Those candies look almost identical to the imported ones my mom bought. She must have stolen them from me!]
[2: Her family has no money, how could she afford such expensive Candy? Her mom is that kind of person-like parent, like child. She must have been a criminal since she was little! She’s the one who stole!]
[3: I just took her Candy, but she went crazy and hit me, even smashed my face with a Stool. I got a huge gash, and the blood wouldn’t stop! She wanted to kill me-she’s the one bullying classmates at school! Teacher, don’t you agree?]
–
“This is awful!”
Luo Jia Bai could hardly stand it. “It’s completely turning black into white. This is elementary school, right? Nuo Nuo is just a little kid, and her classmates are all so young-how can they be so mean?”
He didn’t know what he was thinking about, but his lips turned pale with anger and his whole body trembled. “The first and second incidents are classic School Bullying, and the third is pure slander!”
“The answer needs to be comprehensive and standard, right? Then it should be the first and second incidents.” With half the time left, Luo Jia Bai was already furiously writing his response.
“No wonder she said she had no good friends. Turns out all her classmates are isolating her. What are the teachers doing? And the parents?”
Lu Li stared at one line, pondering, “The classmates said her mother was that kind of person, and also called her a criminal. But in Nuo Nuo’s Diary, she only wrote that her mother left home, not that she committed any crime.”
Was this another lie from the classmates who were full of falsehoods?
It didn’t seem like it.
This sentence must mean something.
What crime did her mother commit?
The Wristband’s reminder sounded:
[Key Item Exploration Progress: +0.2]
Luo Jia Bai wrote quickly, finished the answer, and looked at Lu Li in surprise, “You found a new Item again?”
The Clown above their heads started moving again, aiming the roaring Chainsaw at Lu Li.
This time, as the dust settled, Lu Li changed into a new Initial Outfit before his clothes were completely shredded.
“I’ll definitely choose carefully this time.” Luo Jia Bai gritted his teeth and promised.
He wrote the first and second incidents separately.
But he got it wrong twice again.
“The correct answer can’t be the third incident, right?” Luo Jia Bai gripped the test paper, feeling aggrieved. “She went through the first two things, then had her stuff stolen and was slandered. If it were me, I’d go crazier than her. How could that be called bullying others?”
Lu Li lowered his gaze, “Maybe what she went through was far more than just those two incidents.”
“This kind of standard for judging right and wrong is a challenge to my morals and worldview. Good thing there are no kids in the Classroom right now. If I ever saw those three kids making up stories in front of the teacher…” Luo Jia Bai was especially furious, “I’d beat them one by one!”
When Luo Jia Bai wrote down the third incident, the answer was finally correct.
The two of them breathed a sigh of relief, but the sight of that bright red checkmark left them feeling uneasy.
Luo Jia Bai wanted to throw his pen, “I’m so mad I could die.”
Lu Li pressed his chest, where his heart was pounding, and whispered, “Angry?”
So this feeling was anger.
The fourth section on the Blackboard Bulletin revealed another part of the playground equipment in the Park-this time, it was the carousel.
“Almost forgot about your clothes.” Luo Jia Bai looked apologetically at Lu Li. “Sorry, the standard answer for this question was just too hard to figure out. I’ll give you 500 Points. Before we enter Game Night, buy yourself a nicer outfit from the Shop.”
As if afraid Lu Li would refuse, Luo Jia Bai held his Wristband high, showing his Points balance.
Lu Li accepted it directly, “Thank you.”
He said sincerely, “If you could give a bit more, that would be even better. I saw something in the Shop I really want, but I don’t have enough Points.”
It was the first time Lu Li had asked him for something, and Luo Jia Bai felt his own image had grown taller. He transferred the Points without blinking, “1,000 Points, is that enough?”
“If not, 2,000, or even 3,000?”
In the end, Lu Li smiled at him, holding the 10,000 Points he’d gotten for free, “You’re really a good person.”
Luo Jia Bai grinned, “No problem, it’s just a little money. We only made it through thanks to you not dying.”
He looked up, impatient, “Why isn’t the door to Game Night coming down yet?”
Lu Li shattered his beautiful fantasy, “Because Group B’s question hasn’t started yet.”
Luo Jia Bai quickly looked down and saw that below the Clown, in the center of the Blackboard Bulletin, new chalk words were appearing:
[The children in Group B left the Classroom early and were the first to see the Clown in the Park.]
[At this moment, you see the Clown holding colorful Balloons-red, blue, green, yellow.]
[You__]
This looked like a fill-in-the-blank question.
The Clown’s mouth opened and spat out a piece of chalk.
Lu Li stepped forward and took it.
Luo Jia Bai realized he was the hostage this time. He looked at the slender chalk in Lu Li’s hand and swallowed, “Fill in the color? Choose one of the four?”
Lu Li saw his legs trembling and comforted him, “Don’t be nervous. Worst case, it’s just a Chainsaw.”
