Chapter 9

After returning home from the supermarket with them, Xia Wei offered to help with the cooking and pulled open the cupboard where the dishes were kept.

She immediately jumped back in terror at the sight of the little girl curled up inside.

Used to the sight, I casually beckoned for the little girl to come out and play, even handing her the bag of potato chips we had just bought.

A frantic cry echoed from the bathroom.

“Someone… there’s someone in the mirror!” Zhou Mingli came sprinting out, only to freeze when he saw the Spider Girl crawling on the floor. His scream reached an even higher decibel.

With a wolf in front and a tiger behind, Zhou Mingli stood rooted to the spot, feeling like he might as well just lie down and die.

“Sis, how on earth do you live in this house…” he asked, on the verge of tears.

“Aside from the natural lighting, everything about this place is great. Oh, right-what’s with these toddler cartoons? They’re so boring. They’re not nearly as good as the discs you gave me. At least the male lead in those has a nice body.”

I flipped through several channels without finding anything interesting, so I decided to dig out the videotape Xia Wei had given me yesterday.

Xia Wei grabbed my hand to stop me from taking out the disc, a forced smile plastered on her face. “No, no, no! Sis, we love cartoons. Let’s just watch the cartoons. Cartoons are great.”

Zhou Mingli gingerly sidestepped the girl scavenging for chips on the floor and stood beside me, nodding like a woodpecker. “Right, right! We both love this stuff.”

Since my guests were so insistent, I had no choice but to put the disc back.

On the television screen, a mouse with two large black ears stepped rhythmically and cheerfully.

“Mickey Mouse Clubhouse~ Come inside, it’s fun inside~”

“Do you guys really like watching this?” I looked at the two of them skeptically. “Your expressions don’t look very happy. Maybe we should watch this disc instead…”

Zhou Mingli and Xia Wei had been sitting there stiffly, but upon hearing that, they began to dance with their entire bodies to demonstrate their profound longing for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Seeing them smiling so happily, I nodded in satisfaction.

I Treat the Horror World as an Otome Game

I fell into a world of Strange Tales, but I thought I was playing a romance otome game.

At the stroke of midnight, the cobweb-covered landline rang. A raspy, eerie voice drifted through the...
