Chapter 12
Chapter 12
The static on the TV screen gradually cleared.
This time, the cabin in the woods was bathed in a sinister red glow.
“Yo, this one was filmed outdoors.”
“There’s even a woman here, and you two are still watching this so eagerly?”
Brother Chen’s three underlings were chattering away with their commentary.
Only Brother Chen himself was frowning. The moment he heard the whistle of the sledgehammer swinging through the air, he stood up, his expression grim. “Turn off the TV! Now!”
This time, the footage was different from what I had seen before.
The camera moved inside the house. The man in the windbreaker took off his mask as he used the sledgehammer to brutally smash something on the floor. His face was already splattered with what looked like red ink.
He had sharp, chiseled features, and his silent aura was heavy with a murderous intent. The sledgehammer, which looked incredibly heavy, seemed like a mere toy in his hands.
The man’s raven-like lashes lowered, revealing eyes so dark they bordered on blue-clear and calm like a child’s, creating a jarring contrast with the rest of his demeanor.
“We can’t watch this tape! It triggers a Death Forewarning call, and no one survives past seven days!” Brother Chen stood up abruptly, glaring at me with a vicious look. “Are you trying to get us killed?”
I ignored him, pulling out my glasses again to get a better look at the handsome man.
“Even non-participants can be killed by a Strange Tale! This woman is a psycho-she’s still watching it herself!”
Stubble Man’s hand trembled as he pressed the power button on the remote.
But the disc kept playing. The perspective shifted back outside. Inside the cabin, the man stopped smashing things, opened the door, and walked out.
He held the sledgehammer upside down, letting it drag along the ground with a piercing metallic screech.
“Unplug it! Pull the plug!”
Underling B rushed forward and flipped the switch on the power strip. I frowned in dissatisfaction. “What are you doing? I was still watching!”
The screen went black. Brother Chen had just let out a sigh of relief when his heart leaped into his throat again.
The TV turned itself back on. This time, the man was very, very close to the camera.
Stubble Man lunged at me, his eyes wide with rage. He spat out a string of curses, threatening to beat me up.
Honestly, even if this video isn’t your type, there’s no need for such an overreaction.
Just as he was about to grab my collar, every light in the house suddenly went out.
After a crack of thunder, the rain began to pour.
A gale blew in through the open window, rattling the withered branches of the locust tree.
The smell of rust began to permeate the room.
Someone was standing right in front of me, carrying the damp chill of the night.

I Treat the Horror World as an Otome Game
I fell into a world of Strange Tales, but I thought I was playing a romance otome game.
At the stroke of midnight, the cobweb-covered landline rang. A raspy, eerie voice drifted through the...
