As everyone made their way up the Back Mountain, Chen Shu’s mood grew heavy.

Wherever they passed, murmurs rose and fell, and the crowd’s faces were filled with terror.

Some whispered to each other, some took out their phones to snap photos, as if witnessing something unbelievable.

Chen Shu looked around, seeing a variety of expressions-fear, confusion, and even a trace of sorrow.

But what unsettled him most was Zhang Li’s gaze.

Zhang Li stood frozen, not daring to take a single step forward.

Her eyes were filled with terror and helplessness, as if she had seen something that made her heart pound with fear.

“Sister!”

Zhang Li suddenly screamed, making Chen Shu’s heart tighten.

He followed Zhang Li’s gaze and saw, on the open ground beside the trees ahead, a naked corpse lying there, blood streaming from the body, eyes wide open as if staring at the sky.

The most terrifying thing was that the face looked exactly like Zhang Li’s, but lifeless.

Chen Shu’s eyes lingered on the corpse’s gaze, stopping at the bright red wound-her breasts had been cruelly cut off, leaving a smooth, bloody gash.

Blood surged out like a tide, mixing with a strong, pungent smell that assaulted the nose.

Then his eyes shifted to her abdomen, where a huge gash had been made, with organs and blood pouring out together, forming a horrific scene.

The wound looked as if it had been forcefully slashed and then torn open, and inside the belly was a bright red Baby’s corpse. Chen Shu squinted, estimating that the Baby looked only five months old. The pitiful life had been brutally taken, making one’s heart ache.

Even more terrifying, the Baby’s mouth was stuffed full with a red ball of flesh, as if forced to swallow something. Its tiny hand still gripped another red ball of flesh, which even had a protrusion resembling a nipple.

These two balls of flesh were the breasts that had been cut off from the victim’s body.

Such a twisted scene made everyone feel strange and uneasy, as if trapped in a nightmare.

No one else dared to approach.

Zhang Li was either trembling with fear or so overwhelmed with grief she was about to faint.

Liu Hai supported her arm from the side. “Zhang Li, don’t be afraid.”

Chen Shu stood nearby, wanting to go over and check the situation.

Zhang Li shook her head. “You shouldn’t go either. This is too terrifying…”

Just as she finished speaking, two mature men in plain clothes stepped out from the crowd and stood beside the corpse, observing it closely.

Both wore sunglasses, were tall and thin, with dark skin and a cold aura about them.

Chen Shu frowned, feeling that these two looked familiar.

He remembered that they were the same two he had once followed from his home; he hadn’t expected them to follow into the School as well.

Immediately, one of them took out a Public Security badge, signaling everyone to disperse and not to crowd around.

A few minutes later, sirens sounded on the School’s playground, and several Police Cars arrived at the scene.

Then, a man and a woman led a team of officers to the crime scene.

Chen Shu looked at them-they were all familiar faces.

Leading the team were Han Xue and Lu Fan.

They also glanced at Chen Shu but said nothing.

Meanwhile, Liu Hai helped Zhang Li to sit on the stone steps a few meters to the right of the corpse.

Zhang Li seemed very frightened, her head always bowed low.

Liu Hai gently stroked Zhang Li’s cold back, comforting her, “It’s okay, it will pass.”

Then the police conducted a brief investigation and collected evidence at the scene. They took the corpse back to the station, preparing for the Autopsy Report.

Afterwards, Han Xue approached Chen Shu.
“Chen Shu, what are you doing here?”

Chen Shu replied calmly, “Nothing much, just wanted to reminisce about the youthful days of being a student.”

“Hmph, do you think I’d believe that?”

Han Xue glanced at him.

At this moment, Lu Fan walked over, pointing at Zhang Li and Chen Shu.

“You two, please come with us to the police station to make a statement.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Shu looked at Lu Fan and asked, “Brother, do I still need to go?”

“Of course!”

Lu Fan nodded sternly.

Then the two of them got into their car and were escorted to the police station.

On the way, Zhang Li sat in the car without saying a word.

Chen Shu originally wanted to ask for some information, but apart from Lu Fan occasionally chatting with him, no one else paid him any attention.

Chen Shu sighed inwardly.

When they arrived at the Tianyang City police station, Chen Shu felt almost as if he were coming home.

Han Xue invited him to sit down and have some tea in the office.

This time, he was not the main suspect, so he only needed to cooperate with the investigation and was not interrogated.

“Do you have any clues about who your other self is going to kill? Why do you always seem to show up at the scene of the crime?”

Chen Shu didn’t waste words. He directly took out his phone from his pocket and handed Han Xue a photo.

The photo was taken from the Patient Medical Record, which Chen Shu had intended to provide as a clue to the police.

Han Xue frowned slightly, looking at the patient’s name, medical records, and the dates on it.

She looked at Chen Shu with some surprise.

Chen Shu nodded and shared his speculation: “I think he’s committing the murders according to the dates listed here.”

After hearing this, Han Xue quickly looked at the date: May 6, 2019.

Name: Zhang Li

Gender: Female

Occupation: Student

Age: 19

Treatment: Abortion

Han Xue then looked at the next date.

May 30, 2019.

Name: Liu Fuyu

Gender: Male

Occupation: Businessman

Age: 35

…

Seeing the name Liu Fuyu, Han Xue was stunned. This person was considered a celebrity and wealthy businessman in Tianyang City, and was said to have had close cooperation with the local Li Group.

Not only that, he was also the mayor’s nephew and a well-known entrepreneur in Tianyang City.

In other words, in three days, on May 30, Liu Fuyu would also be…

Han Xue looked at Chen Shu and asked, “Did you already have contact with Liu Fuyu back in 2019?”

Chen Shu nodded seriously.

“I’m a doctor. I meet too many people every day.”

After hearing this, Han Xue looked at Chen Shu thoughtfully.

“Alright, thank you. We’ll keep an eye on it.”

“By the way, why is Zhang Li still 19 years old when this was three years ago?”

“And why is Liu Fuyu still 35? Shouldn’t he be 38 by now?”

When Chen Shu heard Han Xue’s doubts, he was startled, suddenly feeling that something was off.

Chen Shu picked up his phone and checked Liu Fuyu’s personal information.

Because Liu Fuyu was a businessman, his information could be found on the mobile browser.

He looked and found that Liu Fuyu was still 35 this year.

Chen Shu frowned, vaguely sensing that something was wrong.

“What’s wrong?”

Han Xue noticed his expression and asked.

Chen Shu shook his head. “I originally thought Zhang Lili had been lying to me three years ago, using her sister’s name and phone number, so…”

“Right, they’re twin sisters, born in the same year and month. Why has everyone’s time gone back three years?”
