Chapter 5

After the jokes, Zhang Bei sent these people back to the dormitory.

Although these students could rest, Zhang Bei, as the boss, still had to work.

He sent out WeChat messages one after another, and the friends he had previously contacted also started taking action.

In just ten minutes, the whole of Dingyang City’s social media circles were flooded with news about the Amusement Park reopening.

This Amusement Park had existed in Dingyang City for twenty years, and this time Zhang Bei was appealing to nostalgia.

Even though nostalgia might not attract that many visitors, it was enough to get the Amusement Park operating again.

Countless people scrolling through their feeds at night came across the overwhelming news.

“Qingqing, it’s the weekend tomorrow. Should we go play at the Amusement Park?”

“The one in the west of the city?”

“Yeah, they’re open again!”

“It’s been so long. Let’s go check it out.”

A young couple snuggled together, their eyes full of anticipation.

“Hey, honey, let’s take the kid to the Amusement Park tomorrow.”

“To the Amusement Park? Aren’t you working tomorrow?”

“Our kid got first place in the exam this time. Let’s not disappoint him.”

“Alright, just this once!”

“Best wife ever.”

The night passed quickly, and Zhang Bei pushed open the gates of the Amusement Park.

It was only six in the morning. Even if there were visitors, none would arrive this early.

Zhang Bei flipped the power switch and took a deep breath as he looked at the Amusement Park before him.

Not long after, the staff arrived one after another. Zhang Bei handed over the equipment to them, and together with two students, stood beside the Drop Tower.

“There are printed Safety Commitment Forms in the drawer. Anyone who wants to ride has to sign.”

Li Yang nodded firmly; he knew well how frightening this thing could be.

Soon, the first batch of visitors arrived at the Amusement Park by bus.

Although not many attractions were open, each one was filled with nostalgia.

The sci-fi-themed Drop Tower especially attracted attention.

Seeing a group of people approaching, Li Yang immediately perked up.

He was in charge of selling tickets today, as well as tracking his classmates’ commissions.

The group quickly drew near the Drop Tower, and two young couples glanced at the ticket prices.

“Two tickets for us!”

Li Yang placed the payment QR code on the counter and turned to retrieve the Safety Commitment Forms.

“Hello, sir. The Drop Tower requires signing a Safety Commitment Form. Please take a look.”

The young man raised his eyebrows and skimmed through it.

He signed his name on the form, then handed another copy to his girlfriend.

Within five minutes, the first batch of Drop Tower riders were officially seated.

There were over forty people-already half the capacity of the Drop Tower.

A mother stood behind the railing with her young son, waving forward.

“Go, Dad!”

The middle-aged man, strapped in with a safety harness, gave a thumbs-up.

As music played, the Drop Tower started up.

Many visitors who were afraid of heights stood watching from afar.

Meanwhile, the kitchen was busy too – popcorn, sour plum juice, and all kinds of snacks were laid out.

Visitors stopped to make purchases, listening to the screams from above as they enjoyed their treats.

Thirty meters isn’t much to those unafraid of heights.

But that momentary feeling of weightlessness still sent adrenaline surging.

Soon, five minutes had passed, and the staff in the Control Room rubbed their hands together.

The first button was pressed, and the Drop Tower seats began to rise with the column.

At sixty meters, the screams became noticeably more intense, and Zhang Bei frowned.

The shouts of these forty people still weren’t as loud as those of the dozen-or-so people last night.
Looks like it’s time to pull out the big guns!

Zhang Bei walked into the Control Room and pressed two buttons in quick succession.

A height of ninety meters was generated within seconds, and the seats began to contract.

Everyone suspended in mid-air was stunned.

“Holy crap, what’s going on!”

“Ahhh, let me down!”

“Help!”

Zhang Bei glanced at the time-there were almost four minutes left, enough for these people to experience it.

With the start button pressed, the project known as the Human Yo-Yo bared its fangs at this moment.

“Mom, I want to go home!”

“Oh-crap, oh-”

“Help! Help! Help! Help!”

Screams echoed across the sky.

Zhang Bei took the sour plum juice handed to him by Chef Li and took a sip.

A wave of comfort instantly spread through his body in the hot summer.

On the other side, countless people craned their necks, staring in shock.

But eating popcorn and drinking sour plum juice-why does it feel kind of nice?

The four minutes quickly passed, and the Drop Tower slowly descended.

The two young lovers who went up first sat on the ground, their eyes vacant.

The father who wanted to set an example for his son had just undone his safety belt and was already kneeling on the ground.

Mother and son hurried to help him up: “Are you okay?”

“Still… still… I’m fine.”

Seeing his father struggling to speak, the child let out a soft “tsk.”

Zhang Bei pushed a small cart, one by one helping the people collapsed on the ground out.

He lined them up under the sun.

A spectacular scene appeared before their eyes.

More than thirty people shivering under the twenty-degree sun.

A few even trembled from time to time.

After dealing with these people, Zhang Bei returned to the Drop Tower.

“Anyone else want to play?”

Upon hearing this, the surrounding crowd instantly dispersed.

Those who hadn’t gone up in the first wave were already somewhat afraid of heights, let alone after seeing so many people’s miserable state.

Though they didn’t dare to try the Drop Tower, they could still experience the other attractions.

Zhang Bei twitched the corner of his mouth, considering whether to add a cover to the Drop Tower.

Otherwise, if people saw this, no one would want to play.

After ten or so minutes, those under the sun gradually regained their senses.

Most still felt weak in the legs, but could barely stand up.

Just then, the second batch of visitors entered the Amusement Park.

Zhang Bei’s eyes lit up and he hurried forward.

“No need to queue for the Drop Tower! As soon as we have forty people, we’ll start!”

The newcomers, hearing there was no need to queue, immediately rushed over.

Li Yang, sitting at the ticket booth, twitched the corner of his mouth.

Of course there’s no need to queue-the whole Amusement Park barely has any people right now.

You don’t need to queue for anything.

A line quickly formed in front of the Drop Tower.

“Hey bro, is this thing fun?”

The young man, hearing the voice beside him, forced a smile onto his pale face.

“Super fun! I’m telling you, after ten minutes, all your stress is gone!”

“Really? I’m here because I’m stressed and want to relax!”

“Really, trust me-this will be an experience you’ll never forget.”

Looking at his girlfriend still recovering nearby, the young man’s gaze shifted to the crowd still watching.

He rubbed his stiff face, put on a smile, and walked to the front.

“Bro, I just came down from up there-it’s really awesome!”

“Miss, this thing only looks scary, it’s actually not that bad.”
