chapter 4
Chapter 4
Zhang Bei greeted Teacher Li with a smile and watched as the students stepped down from the vehicle.
He had personally interviewed each of these students; all of them had good character and excellent grades.
“Hello, Boss!”
“Grab your things and follow me to the dormitory!”
Soon, the group arrived at the dormitory that Zhang Bei had arranged.
It was a two-story apartment building.
“We’ll be staying on the second floor, two people per room. You can decide among yourselves!”
There were ten students in total: six boys and four girls. Zhang Bei didn’t bother making detailed arrangements for the dorms.
He simply reserved the entire second floor.
The Chef Team was already living there.
Although many of these students were about to graduate, Teacher Li couldn’t help but assert his authority.
“No messing around. Line up and go in one at a time!”
By the time they finished organizing the dormitories, it was noon, so they all headed back to the Amusement Park.
As they entered the Cafeteria, a rich aroma instantly filled the air.
Two chefs were watching videos on their phones, but immediately looked up when they heard the commotion.
“Hello, Boss!”
Zhang Bei nodded, “What have you prepared for today?”
One of the chefs grinned and lifted the lids.
There were four dishes and a soup, each neatly packed in separate containers.
Zhang Bei turned to the students, “Take as much as you want, but no wasting food!”
“Wuhu, thank you, Boss!”
Watching the group fall into chaos again, Teacher Li’s face was covered in black lines.
But since Zhang Bei, the boss, had said nothing, he felt it wasn’t his place to scold them anymore.
After all, once here, they were employees and had to follow Zhang Bei’s arrangements in everything.
Although Zhang Bei was quite young, everything he’d arranged for the students today had left Teacher Li very satisfied.
He felt reassured leaving the students in Zhang Bei’s hands.
After lunch, Teacher Li boarded the car for his return trip.
Watching the students gather around him, Zhang Bei couldn’t help but smile.
“This afternoon, I’ll assign you all to your facilities. Tomorrow, we’ll officially open for business!”
“Boss, how exactly is our pay calculated? You only told us the base salary during the interview.”
The question came from a small boy with glasses.
Zhang Bei remembered him clearly; he’d answered nearly all the questions during the interview.
“Two of you per amusement facility: one sells tickets, the other operates the ride.”
As he spoke, Zhang Bei pointed to the Drop Tower, “For example, here, today we sold a total of one hundred tickets. Each ticket costs thirty yuan, and all of you get a five percent commission.”
At these words, several pairs of eyes brightened.
That’s not a small commission!
Each ticket only provides a ten-minute experience, so if there are enough visitors,
the Drop Tower running at full capacity brings in a few dozen tickets’ worth of income per round!
Zhang Bei clapped his hands, “Alright, let’s go assign the facilities!”
This time, Zhang Bei did not plan to open too many facilities; the Drop Tower and the Giant Swing would definitely operate.
The main Ferris Wheel would also run. Of the remaining two, one was assigned to the Go-Kart,
the other to the Bumper Car.
As for the other equipment, it was rather old and would be considered again once funds were more abundant.
The entire afternoon was spent teaching the students how to operate and maintain the equipment.
After dinner, Zhang Bei sat in a chair in the Cafeteria, looking at the students.
“How about some after-dinner exercise?”
“Yes!”
“Of course!”
His gaze shifted to the Chef Team, “Chef Li, are you all joining?”
“We’re in!”
“Absolutely!”
He led everyone back to the Drop Tower.
Helping each person fasten their safety belts, Zhang Bei turned and pulled over a chair to sit down.
“Li Yang, why aren’t you two playing?”
Hearing the classmates’ doubts, cold sweat instantly broke out on the foreheads of the two students standing behind Zhang Bei.
“Uh, you guys go ahead and play, I’ll just watch and see how it goes.”
“Alright then, maybe next time we’ll play together.”
The two could only force a bitter smile. Next time?
They’d bet their lifelong singlehood that they’d never touch this thing in their lives!
The two of them were the ones controlling the Drop Tower, so who better than them to know just how insane this thing was?
The remote control in Zhang Bei’s hand was basically a death warrant!
As soon as he pressed the start button, the Drop Tower began to operate.
Sitting in the chair, Zhang Bei raised an eyebrow as he listened to the not-so-loud screams from midair.
Looks like these people have strong resistance. He wondered how many levels they could withstand.
He handed over the remote: “You do it, they’re all your classmates.”
Li Yang swallowed hard and took the remote with trembling hands.
It wasn’t fear-it was excitement!
Looking up at his classmates, a wide grin spread across his face.
With the press of a button, the entire Drop Tower suddenly shot up, this time skipping sixty meters and going straight to ninety!
“Holy crap, Li Yang, what did you do?”
“Help, it’s way too high!”
“Holy crap, no, ahhhhhhh!”
The voices above abruptly turned into screams of terror.
Zhang Bei glanced at Li Yang’s excited expression and stroked his chin.
Does this kid have some kind of kink?
If Li Yang knew what Zhang Bei was thinking, he’d definitely spit in his face.
Who designed this thing?
Who tricked these people into trying it?
But the experience wasn’t over yet-it had only been five minutes.
With the final press of the button, the project known as the Human Yo-Yo was unleashed.
“Holy crap, bro, what’s happening?”
“The chair, where’s the chair?!”
“Yang, we were wrong, let us down!”
By now, Li Yang was completely lost in his own world, oblivious to his classmates’ desperate cries.
This round of screams was even more intense.
Five minutes later, the Drop Tower descended, and Zhang Bei led the two up.
The first to undo his safety belt was Chef Li.
As the Head Chef, Chef Li set a good example for the team.
He sat on the ground, eyes full of confusion.
Who am I? Where am I? Is it too late to resign?
The rest of the Chef Team fared even worse-two of them even collapsed to their knees.
As for the students, they were completely limp on the ground.
The girl who screamed the loudest now had a dazed look in her eyes.
Those ten short minutes would take her a lifetime to recover from.
The Chef Team’s physical fitness was decent, and they managed to recover after just over ten minutes.
Chef Li scratched his thinning hair.
“Li Yang, right? No meat for you this week!”
That sentence seemed to inject energy into everyone lying on the ground.
All the boys stood up, though their legs were still shaky.
But their faces wore sinister smiles: “Yang, let’s have a little chat!”
The boy who’d been with Li Yang tried to escape, but Chef Li grabbed him back.
“You’re in on this too!”
The next round of screams was even more miserable, no less than the previous ten minutes.
Once everyone had vented enough, they finally recovered.
The two unlucky controllers were now filled with sorrow.
Question: First day on the job, and you’ve already offended the whole company-what should you do?
Waiting online, it’s urgent!
(The miserable Li Yang lay on the ground, looking at the crowd around him: “Can I get some flowers and votes?”)
