Chapter 34
Chapter 34
Seeing Zhang Bei dive straight into work mode, the interior designer clicked his tongue in admiration.
“At minimum, it’ll cost thirty thousand.”
Zhang Bei nodded. “I’ll set aside forty thousand for your end.”
He then began communicating with the actuary. Actuaries were professionals extremely sensitive to numbers; as long as Zhang Bei raised a requirement, he could provide a price quote immediately.
Over the course of three hours, Zhang Bei finalized the specific structure of the house. He drew up a foundation plan first and turned to look at the group. “Demolishing the existing house and building the foundation now will save us some time.”
“Understood!”
With that, Zhang Bei hunched over the table and began the design for the entire house’s construction. Even with a mental draft, turning a design into a finished blueprint took time.
It took Zhang Bei a full two days to complete the blueprints. This matched his initial estimate. After handing the designs over to the construction team, he boarded a plane.
Meanwhile, the members of the team back in Yanjing gathered around, staring solemnly at the drawings Zhang Bei had sent.
“Holy crap, this attic concept is genius!”
“And it only cost a hundred and ten thousand? That’s incredible!”
“Xiao Zhu, where did you find such a master?”
The girl tilted her head up proudly. “Don’t ask. If you must know, just call it networking!”
Leaving the matters in Yanjing aside for the moment, Zhang Bei finally returned to the Amusement Park after a four-hour journey. The moment he stepped through the main gate, he was greeted by Li Yang’s face, which was twisted with worry.
“Boss, you’re back!”
Zhang Bei nodded. “What’s with the long face?”
“A lot of people are attacking the Amusement Park online. The number of tourists has dropped significantly.”
Zhang Bei frowned. He had been rushing to finish the design blueprints over the past two days and hadn’t had any time to scroll through videos or even check his phone.
“Why?”
Li Yang glanced at Zhang Bei. “Some people are saying the Amusement Park is using Sister Bai’s situation as a publicity stunt.”
Upon hearing this, Zhang Bei actually felt a sense of relief. As long as there wasn’t an actual problem with the Amusement Park itself, these rumors wouldn’t have a lasting impact.
“I see. Just focus on your work.”
He started walking toward the Monitoring Room but stopped halfway. Beside him stood the Toy House, which had been completed for some time. However, Zhang Bei hadn’t had the energy to organize it lately. The toys sent by the manufacturers were still piled up inside.
After a moment of thought, Zhang Bei decided to head to the Monitoring Room first. Staring at the monitors, he saw that the number of tourists in the Amusement Park had indeed dwindled. There were no longer any queues for the Maze or the Ski Resort-something that would have been impossible just a short while ago.
Leaning back in his chair, Zhang Bei pulled out his phone and scrolled through Weibo. He quickly found the source of the trouble. After reading through a post of over a thousand words, Zhang Bei’s brow furrowed.
It wasn’t actually a major issue; it was just personal speculation from a Weibo influencer. However, the post had been triggered by You Bai’s recent testimony. The level of attention surrounding that case was so high that it had essentially captured the interest of the entire internet.
Zhang Bei put down his phone and tapped his fingers on the desk. There were two ways to handle this. The first was to wait; once the court session opened in a month, the rumors would collapse on their own. The second was to fight back directly. Currently, no fewer than fifty influencers had reposted that Weibo entry. One could only imagine the difficulty of taking them all on.
But who was Zhang Bei? He was someone who had made a name for himself back in high school. Faced with something like this, there was no way he would just grin and bear it.
Zhang Bei picked up his phone with one hand and dialed Heizi’s number.
“Hey, have you heard about what’s happening online?”
“I know. Look, Bei, don’t be impulsive. The rumors will die down in a month.”
Heizi knew Zhang Bei’s personality; his first priority was to talk him down.
“What are you thinking? I need a legal team and photos of the court proceedings.”
The other end of the line went silent for a long moment. “Fine. I’ll send a legal team over in a bit.”
To be honest, Heizi was currently surrounded by people who had no shortage of lawyers.
Which of those wealthy young masters didn’t keep a flock of legal experts on retainer?
Since these people were just sitting around anyway, he might as well pull them all in to handle You Bai’s situation.
Zhang Bei didn’t have to wait long before a dozen men in suits walked into the Amusement Park.
Zhang Bei turned to greet them. “Hello, I’m Zhang Bei, the owner of this amusement park.”
The leader was a man in his thirties.
“Hello, I am Wang Cheng. I graduated from Zhengfa University and have been practicing for ten years.”
There was one thing Wang Cheng didn’t mention: he was one of the top lawyers in the country, with an eighty percent win rate.
Zhang Bei nodded. “Heizi told you everything, right?”
Wang Cheng pulled a document from his briefcase. “I’m clear on the situation. I just need to know how you want to handle this.”
A cold glint flashed in Zhang Bei’s eyes. “Sue them. Sue everyone who posted malicious comments against the Amusement Park. I want them to lose everything, at the very least.”
A flicker of surprise crossed Wang Cheng’s eyes. “Understood. Next, I need to calculate the Amusement Park’s recent losses.”
Zhang Bei nodded and began cooperating with Wang Cheng to compile the data.
In reality, if one looked closely, the Amusement Park’s regulars were still coming.
The only ones missing were the tourists who had been misled.
Originally, they might have planned a day trip here during their travels, but now they were simply crossing the destination off their lists.
The legal team was as professional as advertised; they finished gathering everything they needed in less than ten minutes.
Wang Cheng nodded to Zhang Bei. “The estimated court date is in two weeks.”
Even though it was just a civil case, Wang Cheng had his own channels after so many years in the industry.
Furthermore, suing over fifty people at once was a rare occurrence anywhere. It was only natural that the proceedings would be expedited.
The two-week wait was a legal requirement to give the defendants time to gather their own evidence.
Three days passed in a flash, and Zhang Bei officially opened the Toy House.
The entire Toy House was filled with all sorts of dolls and figurines.
There were monsters stitched together from four legs, hideous zombies, and a small figure pushing a cart full of severed limbs.
With such a bizarre art style, this was likely the only shop of its kind in the world.
Zhang Bei was currently leaning back in a chair inside the Toy House, hanging up a call from Wang Cheng.
Looking at the social media accounts that were still updating daily, Zhang Bei let out a cold sneer.
He logged into the Amusement Park’s Weibo account and posted several photos.
He also made sure to @ the Dingyang City Court and the signature-collection account Heizi and the others had set up.
Within ten minutes of posting the Weibo update, the comments section was a sea of shock.
[Holy crap, this owner is a beast.]
[Instant fan. This is the first time I’ve ever seen an indictment for fifty-seven people at once.]
[I love this owner. No words, just straight-up aggression.]
[Is no one noticing that notice from the International Court?]
Zhang Bei’s Weibo post included that specific notice, along with the indictments against the group of trolls.
