Chapter 21
“Is there a problem?”
You Bai scratched her head a little awkwardly. “I have a few friends I met at the arena who are also planning to retire soon.”
Zhang Bei nodded, eyes half-closed. “A week from now, a new facility will reopen.”
“Thank you, boss!”
Zhang Bei waved his hand. “Don’t thank me yet. Whether your abilities meet the standard still needs to be assessed.”
Dinner ended amid laughter and joy, and the doors of the Amusement Park were closed.
Zhang Bei leaned against his car, eyes half-closed.
Although the Amusement Park now required queuing, overall it still hadn’t reached full capacity.
According to estimates, with these few facilities, the Amusement Park should reach maximum revenue at full capacity of around twenty thousand.
But current daily income was only a little over ten thousand, so there was still plenty of room for growth.
He immersed his consciousness into the System and selected the Promotion Card to use.
Looking at the three facilities that appeared before him, Zhang Bei immediately chose the Ski Resort.
Whether it was the Drop Tower or the Bumper Car, their visitor capacity was nowhere near that of the Ski Resort.
[Promotion Card has been used. The promotional person will arrive tomorrow.]
That’s it?
The System’s prompt was just that one sentence, then it went silent.
Zhang Bei frowned and started the car.
Anyway, he’d see the results tomorrow, but he still had to complain.
This bare-bones System didn’t give any hints, and he was glad he’d graduated in design.
Otherwise, even with the System, it would be useless to him.
Look at other people’s Systems-if not cultivating immortality, then at least handing out money.
His own System didn’t even mention giving money, and so far, it hadn’t released many tasks.
The night passed uneventfully.
Early the next morning, Zhang Bei arrived at the Amusement Park.
Today was the day the Promotion Card would take effect.
No matter what, Zhang Bei had to see what kind of person could bring a surge of popularity to the Amusement Park.
Chef Li had just entered the kitchen when a delicious aroma greeted him.
Zhang Bei was crouched in front of the griddle, carefully spreading out the batter.
“Boss, why are you here?”
“Got up early, just making something.”
Watching Zhang Bei skillfully flip the pancakes, Chef Li hesitated to speak.
After a full minute, he finally asked, “Is my cooking not tasty?”
“No.”
“Then does it not suit your taste?”
“No, it’s just right.”
Seeing Zhang Bei crack two more eggs, Chef Li couldn’t hold back.
“Then what are you doing so early in the morning?”
“For peace of mind.”
Chef Li: Meow meow meow?
What does ‘peace of mind’ even mean?
He sighed quietly and turned to start prepping today’s ingredients.
Watching his boss staring intently at the griddle, Chef Li straightened his back, determined to give his best performance.
A few other chefs saw Zhang Bei and were momentarily stunned.
Seeing Chef Li’s demeanor, they immediately became serious.
Today, they had to give it their all!
The morning in the kitchen passed in a strange atmosphere.
Zhang Bei only managed to make a few egg pancakes that morning.
They looked quite presentable.
In fact, things weren’t nearly as complicated as Chef Li imagined.
Zhang Bei had simply gotten up too early and came to the Amusement Park looking for something to do.
To sum it up in one sentence: bored out of his mind.
When employees entered the Cafeteria, the first thing they saw was Zhang Bei’s smiling face.
“Li Yang is here! There are egg pancakes today, come and try one!”
Li Yang looked at Zhang Bei in confusion, then reached out and picked one up.
The faint aroma of scallions mixed with egg filled his mouth with freshness and flavor.
“Delicious!”
Seeing Li Yang’s expression, Zhang Bei nodded in satisfaction.
Chef Li came out carrying a large plate of pan-fried dumplings. “Have a taste!”
Li Yang’s expression froze, and he hurriedly swallowed the pancake in his mouth.
He picked up a pan-fried dumpling and put it into his mouth.
“This is delicious too!”
That sentence seemed to flip a switch-everyone in the kitchen began bringing out different breakfast dishes and placing them on the table.
Every pair of eyes was fixed on Li Yang.
Li Yang suddenly started to regret coming so early. Why did I come here so early?
The table was soon filled with all kinds of breakfast: soup dumplings, fried dough sticks, soy milk, lotus root starch, and tofu pudding.
For a full ten minutes, Li Yang finally swallowed the last bite of soup dumpling.
“This is also delicious, but I really can’t eat anymore!”
The chefs, satisfied with the reviews, didn’t make things any harder for Li Yang. They started cleaning up and preparing snacks for daytime sales.
Just then, the other employees walked in. Seeing the table full of breakfast, they quickly sat down.
Gu Yue then picked up a bun and turned to look at Li Yang.
“What’s wrong with you?”
Li Yang waved his hand. “Hic, I ate, hic, a bit too much.”
Gu Yue glanced at the time. “Are you a pig? It’s only been ten minutes!”
Li Yang looked at the busy chefs in the kitchen, his eyes suddenly filled with grievance.
Zhang Bei found this look strangely familiar.
A voice sounded, helping Zhang Bei pinpoint the source of that familiarity.
“Eating too much breakfast can easily cause stomach problems.”
No sound of footsteps, an uncertain tone-it was definitely the doctor!
The doctor sat down next to Li Yang and pressed a few spots.
“Rest for a while and have some tea. Don’t eat so much next time.”
Seeing Li Yang nod, the doctor sighed.
He was already losing his hair. The boss never let him relax, and now even the employees were catching on.
The doctor now felt that his salary wasn’t for working, but for selling his life!
Breakfast passed amid the doctor’s health tips, and soon it was opening time.
All the employees were ready. Zhang Bei opened the gates of the Amusement Park.
The first group of visitors lined up and entered.
Some rushed straight to the Drop Tower, while others queued up in front of the Bumper Car ride.
The rest all headed deeper inside, toward the Ski Resort.
Zhang Bei also planned to oversee the Ski Resort today, at least until the Promotion Card’s featured guest appeared.
You Bai skated over to Zhang Bei.
“Boss, do you want to learn for a bit?”
Zhang Bei waved his hand. “Forget it, go teach the visitors.”
No one knew the design of this Ski Resort better than Zhang Bei-so many mechanisms and mascots. Even if you were mentally prepared, you couldn’t handle it.
Zhang Bei didn’t have to wait long before a figure carrying live-streaming equipment appeared in his line of sight.
You Bai skated over to greet her first.
“Hello, do you have any skiing experience?”
The streamer, Tang Dou, was momentarily stunned when she saw You Bai, then asked uncertainly,
“Excuse me, are you You Bai?”
You Bai hadn’t expected to be recognized and smiled, nodding. “That’s me.”
Tang Dou immediately let out a squeal. “Would you mind being on camera?”
“Sure, I don’t mind.”
Tang Dou stood next to You Bai with her streaming equipment.
“Hello everyone, I’m Tang Dou. Standing next to me is the Winter Olympics World Champion: You Bai!”
You Bai also greeted the viewers in the livestream room.
Zhang Bei squinted at the scene for a while, confirming that this was indeed the person brought in by the Promotion Card.
