Chapter 20

Xu Qian’s expression froze, and she leaned back in her chair to rest.

Heizi’s blunt remark killed the mood, and there was no point in trying to be sentimental anymore.

As the boss, Zhang Bei slept in until after ten before finally waking up.

Since it was already late, he simply decided not to go to the Amusement Park that morning.

After freshening up, he took the subway to the commercial district.

Looking at the extravagant storefront before him, Zhang Bei stepped inside.

“Hello sir, are you here to look at cars?”

That’s right-after nearly a month, Zhang Bei had finally decided to buy a car for commuting.

He was greeted by a young salesperson, who invited Zhang Bei to sit down and poured two cups of hot water.

“May I ask how I should address you, sir?”

“My surname is Zhang.”

“Hello, Mr. Zhang. What price range are you considering for your car?”

Zhang Bei thought for a moment. The Amusement Park had been operating well recently, and cash flow was decent.

The land was his own, and there was no pressure from debts.

“Around two hundred thousand yuan, and I want something spacious.”

After a moment’s thought, Zhang Bei added, “Preferably something that’s available right now.”

The salesperson handed over a booklet and pointed to a photo: “For a car around two hundred thousand, I recommend this one. Spacious, powerful, and I can offer you a further discount on the price.”

Zhang Bei’s gaze landed on the booklet-a white mid-sized car.

He glanced at the brand: Honda Accord.

He flipped through the detailed specs and nodded.

“Alright, I’ll take this one. Please apply for the discount.”

The salesperson hadn’t expected Zhang Bei to be so decisive and was momentarily stunned.

But he quickly recovered.

“Please wait a moment, I’ll apply right away!”

Watching the salesperson hurry off, Zhang Bei leaned back in his chair and sipped his hot water.

Two minutes passed quietly, and a quotation sheet was placed in front of Zhang Bei.

“Mr. Zhang, the on-road price for this car is 215,000 yuan. The maximum discount I can offer is 28,000 yuan.”

The salesperson paused before continuing, “All accessories will be complimentary, and if you need us to handle the license plate, there’s a 3,000 yuan service fee.”

Zhang Bei nodded and handed over his bank card.

A discount at this level was already sufficient for this car.

No need to waste time haggling over a few thousand yuan.

“Let’s sign the contract. I’ll drive the car away in a bit.”

After swiping his card, all that remained were a few simple procedures.

Most dealerships now have a complete process, so Zhang Bei only needed to sign his name.

Half an hour later, Zhang Bei drove his new car deeper into the commercial district.

Looking at the modest storefront ahead, Zhang Bei pushed open the door and walked in.

“Hello sir, how can I help you?”

“I need an accountant to calculate taxes.”

Whether it’s a business or a factory, any profitable department needs to calculate taxes at the end of the month.

It’s not just a matter of simple arithmetic.

Salaries, equipment depreciation, and profits-all these require a certified professional accountant to prepare reports.

With the report, you go to the tax bureau to pay taxes. That’s the proper procedure.

If you just estimate your profits and pay taxes, at best it’s considered underpayment; at worst, it’s tax evasion.

Sitting down again, a man with a briefcase sat across from him.

“Hello sir, what kind of business do you operate?”

Zhang Bei took out an A4 sheet from his jacket, detailing the Amusement Park’s monthly overview.

The professional accountant, armed with a calculator, spent a full half hour compiling the statistics.
After paying the money, Zhang Bei brought the report to the tax bureau.

Suppressing his heartache, he handed over his bank card.

Watching the amount deducted, Zhang Bei sighed silently.

By afternoon, Zhang Bei finally drove back to the Amusement Park.

Seeing the endless stream of visitors, his mood finally improved a little.

Xu Qian was in charge of the Ferris Wheel, but the old Ferris Wheel really struggled to bear such responsibility.

As a result, there were never many visitors over there-not to mention the Drop Tower.

Even the Bumper Car was hard to compete with.

Seeing Zhang Bei get out of the car, Xu Qian hurriedly came out of the Control Room.

“Boss, you’re back!”

Zhang Bei nodded, “You can get off work early today. Go have a good rest.”

Xu Qian quickly shook her head, “I’m fine, boss!”

“If I tell you to rest, just rest!”

“Yes!”

Zhang Bei turned to look at the few visitors near the Ferris Wheel, frowning.

If it weren’t for calculating taxes today, Zhang Bei wouldn’t have noticed.

These employees had been working continuously for so long, and the original plan to hire more people had been delayed again and again.

On the way here, Zhang Bei had already decided: starting tomorrow, the Ferris Wheel and Giant Swing would be closed.

With the Ski Resort, these two low-profit facilities might as well be temporarily shut down.

Once enough Emotional Value was collected, they could reopen.

This way, the staff could also take turns resting.

Zhang Bei observed for the whole afternoon, not even sparing the Ski Resort.

As dinner time arrived, Zhang Bei looked at the employees sitting at the table and cleared his throat.

“Starting tomorrow, the Ski Resort will have rotating shifts. Everyone gets two days off per week. You Bai will be in charge of coordination.”

Seeing You Bai nod, Zhang Bei shifted his gaze to Li Yang.

“We’ll close the Ferris Wheel and Giant Swing here. Li Yang, you arrange the rest schedules.”

Li Yang smiled, “Okay, boss!”

“The kitchen can arrange itself. Chef Li will manage it; I won’t interfere.”

Among his employees, Chef Li’s team was the most worry-free.

After all, their ages spoke for themselves-clearly more mature than the kids just entering society.

After finishing the work arrangements, Zhang Bei moved on to the final step.

Paying salaries!

Although the working period hadn’t reached a full month, Zhang Bei still decided to pay everyone.

After all, it’s better to get the painful things over with in one day.

Better a short pain than a long one.

After checking everyone’s salary, Zhang Bei transferred the money one by one via bank card.

The Amusement Park wasn’t big yet, so there was no need to go through the bank channels.

Seeing the salary arrive, Chef Li smacked his lips.

He hadn’t expected that, although the Amusement Park was small, the salary was already higher than at the hotel he worked at before.

Most importantly, the work was much easier than he’d imagined.

Apart from preparing three meals a day for the staff, he only needed to brew some sour plum soup and make some snacks.

This was also Zhang Bei’s requirement: all snacks and drinks had to be homemade.

And the profits from these, the kitchen could also get a share.

After sending everyone’s salary, Zhang Bei finally put down his phone.

“Eat!”

A group of kids sat together, discussing what to buy during their days off.

Li Yang took a big bite of ribs, “I think my dorm needs a computer.”

Gu Yue rolled her eyes, “All you think about is playing.”

“It’s my first paycheck, of course I want to buy something meaningful!”

You Bai joined in, “Boss, I wanted to ask, when will the Amusement Park be hiring again?”

Countless couples were showing affection on the Ferris Wheel.

Zhang Bei hummed a little tune and pressed the red button.
