Chapter 17
Listening to the screams, Zhang Bei put on another layer of clothing and sat to the side.
This group of people had clearly forgotten the pain of the Drop Tower.
How could anything designed by Zhang Bei be so simple?
In Li Yang’s field of vision, a thick tree appeared directly ahead.
He was racing forward at high speed, and it looked like he was about to crash right into it.
At the last second, the sled arced upward, shooting into the sky.
Li Yang gripped the edge of the sled tightly, his eyes wide open.
On the Drop Tower you could close your eyes if you were scared, but not on this ride.
Who knew what might appear ahead if you closed your eyes?
The sled slammed heavily onto the ground, the cushioning rubber ring bouncing twice.
Before he could catch his breath, a grizzly bear rapidly grew larger in his field of view.
As the sled sped closer, Li Yang could even see drool dripping from the bear’s mouth.
His body went rigid in an instant, every muscle resisting the momentum.
But the sled had no brakes!
They shot past the grizzly bear at full speed, and in a daze, Li Yang thought he saw his late grandmother waving at him.
The sled crossed another giant tree blocking the way.
It leapt over a deep ravine, skimming across shattered ice.
At last, the sled gradually came to a stop.
The moment his feet touched solid ground, Li Yang dropped to his knees.
The doctor patted Li Yang’s shoulder with a pained expression.
“How are you? Are you alright?”
Li Yang’s face was pale, lips bluish. “I’m fine, I just… miss my grandma.”
The doctor walked around him, found no problems, and let out a sigh of relief.
Looking at Zhang Bei, who was sipping hot tea nearby, he said, “Boss, why do you always have to mess with a perfectly good ski resort?”
Zhang Bei coughed lightly. “Our amusement park is all about warmth and comfort. Naturally, we want guests to feel at home.”
“But who at home walks around pale-faced every day, like they won’t live much longer!”
“Ask them – don’t they all want to go home now?”
Hearing Zhang Bei’s words, Li Yang clenched his teeth.
“Yeah, when that bear came out, I really thought I saw my grandma.”
Gu Yue staggered over and plopped down next to Zhang Bei.
“Boss, next time you do something like this, can you give us a heads-up?”
Zhang Bei looked up at the sunlight. “The park’s about to open. Get ready to welcome the guests!”
As soon as he finished speaking, a nimble figure sped down from above on a snowboard.
“Boss, th-th-there’s a bear!”
You Bai, true to her name, looked pale and frantic, her eyes wild.
She looked as if she wished she could strap an engine onto her snowboard.
Zhang Bei reached out and took off You Bai’s glasses. “It’s fine, they’re all fake.”
All around the ski resort were various animatronic figures.
The glasses were electronic devices containing built-in microchips that projected various thrilling scenarios.
On the surface, the ski resort looked perfectly normal.
But once you put on the glasses, it became a thrilling escape.
Of course, these people had only activated this one track; the other two tracks with zombies and ghosts hadn’t been encountered yet.
Once the guests experienced it, that would be the real full version of the ski resort.
All the staff got into position, and Zhang Bei opened the gates to the amusement park.
At the front of the line was Qingqing, whom they hadn’t seen in a long time.
“Good morning, boss!”
“Good morning.”
Qingqing glanced at the familiar scenes inside the amusement park and immediately began to complain.
“It’s still more comfortable at your place, boss. My nerves have been shot all week.”
Zhang Bei turned his head to glance at Qingqing, waiting for her to continue.
Qingqing also stopped, waiting for Zhang Bei to ask her a question.
The air suddenly quieted. Zhang Bei frowned.
“If you’re stressed, just go take a ride on the Drop Tower. This isn’t good.”
Qingqing: ???
How is this person’s train of thought so unique?
You’re not asking me how to continue, so how am I supposed to go on? Otherwise, hitting people is illegal.
Right now, Qingqing just wanted to rush up, grab Zhang Bei by the collar, and shout, “Ask me! Ask me!”
The awkward atmosphere lasted for more than ten seconds before Qingqing finally spoke.
“A new Amusement Park just opened in Qingshan City, and its main attraction is a haunted house.”
At this, Qingqing became even more frustrated.
“It’s called ‘Absolutely No Scares,’ and the puzzles are as easy as one plus one.”
Something that should have been easy to mock was completely thrown off track by Zhang Bei.
A single sentence summed up the entire week’s itinerary.
Zhang Bei nodded, then turned to look at the tourists queuing behind them.
“The Ski Resort needs a hundred people for a free trial. If you want to join, sign up with me!”
Qingqing was the first to stand behind Zhang Bei. The boss might be annoying, but the activities were still worth trying.
Experiencing the chill of the Ski Resort in the heat of summer wasn’t a bad idea.
There were quite a few tourists with the same thought, and soon a group of one hundred was assembled.
Zhang Bei took the lead and headed toward the Ski Resort.
After just a few minutes’ walk, a world of ice and snow appeared before everyone’s eyes.
The Coaching Team, fully equipped, slid over to Zhang Bei on their skis.
Zhang Bei turned to the whispering tourists: “If you have any questions, ask the coaches. They’re all retired athletes.”
He handed the group over to You Bai and sat down to rest.
The Coaching Team truly lived up to their athletic backgrounds-within ten minutes, some people were already skiing quite decently.
Of course, there were also some who weren’t that interested in skiing.
They were holding Sleds, ready to try out the snow slide.
As an outdoor streamer, Qingqing’s physical fitness was definitely better than most.
Besides, as long as you mastered the technique, skiing was basically no problem.
She quickly put on her goggles and began her first-ever ski run.
Goggles are essential for skiing; sunlight reflecting off the snow can be blinding.
Without protection, it’s easy to get snow blindness.
She clipped her streaming device to her helmet and opened her livestream room.
Seeing the viewers pour in, her face lit up with a big smile.
“Your cute, kind, gentle, and generous Qingqing is back!”
Changkong: [Diligent Qing, you’re streaming so early?]
March Squid: [Wow, a Ski Resort! Qingqing, where are you?]
Liyaya: [Qingqing can ski too?]
As more and more viewers joined the stream, Qingqing began to explain.
“The boss just opened a new Ski Resort project here, so I’m here to try it out!”
Taking a deep breath, Qingqing recalled the tips You Bai had given her.
She got into position, swung her arms, and her body shot forward.
The scenery whizzed by, the wind resistance pushing against her body.
Everything was exhilarating.
She picked up speed, quickly passing the halfway point.
Suddenly, a figure in short sleeves appeared on the slope ahead.
Qingqing hurriedly maneuvered her body to swerve to the side, eyes fixed on the person in front of her.
She couldn’t help but complain, “Who is this? No sense of public decency at all!”
