The Stream Viewer only glanced indifferently at the man and continued to adjust their mindset.
There were only two minutes left until the ultimate challenge. If it didn’t work this time, there would still be hope next time at the latest.
Time slid by quickly, and soon five minutes had passed.
The Stream Viewer’s gaze sharpened-here it comes!
The man beside them felt the Drop Tower rise again, and his expression finally changed.
The chair behind slowly retracted, and the Stream Viewer took a deep breath, preparing to endure these last five minutes.
The man beside them turned pale. “Damn, what’s happening? What is this?”
As the chair fully withdrew into the pillar, the safety harness suddenly tightened.
The man’s face was ashen as he gripped the safety rope tightly.
Gravity pulled their bodies downward, and just as they were about to reach the ground, the rope yanked them back up.
A piercing scream tore from the man’s throat.
Five whole minutes of the Human Yo-Yo-by the end, the Stream Viewer was dizzy and collapsed onto the ground.
Still couldn’t hold out, but there was progress!
Now, they could already last four minutes out of the five!
The man beside them lay down the moment he touched the ground.
After living for thirty years, it was the first time he felt how good it was to have his feet firmly on the ground.
Zhang Bei, having left the Amusement Park, appeared inside a Building.
On the Building, several golden characters read: Athlete Training Base.
Following the signs on the wall, Zhang Bei knocked on a wooden door.
“Please come in.”
A crisp voice sounded, and Zhang Bei pushed open the door.
Inside was a simple desk and a woman around thirty years old.
“Hello, my surname is Zhang. I’m the owner of the Amusement Park in the southern part of the city.”
“Hello, how can I help you?”
The woman was a bit puzzled-what business could an Amusement Park owner have at an athlete training base?
Zhang Bei began to explain, “Here’s the thing: I’d like to ask if Dingyang City has any retired ski athletes?”
The woman frowned, “Why do you ask?”
“My Amusement Park plans to open a Ski Resort and needs coaches.”
Upon hearing this, the woman’s face lit up. “You mean you’re going to build a Ski Resort?”
“Yes, it’ll be completed soon. Do you have suitable candidates here?”
The woman pulled out a file from the desk and handed it to Zhang Bei.
“These are all ski athletes who have recently retired. May I ask how many you plan to hire?”
Placement for retired athletes has always been an issue.
The Coaching Team doesn’t need that many people, so most athletes have to find other paths.
Zhang Bei thought about the size of his Ski Resort and estimated, “At least two, at most five.”
A hint of disappointment flashed in the woman’s eyes.
The number of athletes retiring each year is countless; just in Dingyang City, there are more than twenty retired ski athletes this year alone.
Although Zhang Bei only needed five, it still helped solve part of the problem.
Looking through the file, Zhang Bei quickly picked out four profiles.
All were women, and none were very old.
After all, the Amusement Park is essentially a service industry. Having young and attractive women would naturally attract more visitors.
Setting aside the four profiles, Zhang Bei singled out one and placed it on the desk.
“May I ask why she retired?”
The girl in the profile was named You Bai, twenty-one years old, at the peak of her skiing career.
She had just won a medal last year.
Seeing this profile, the woman fell silent.
“Five-year suspension. She retired on her own.”
Upon hearing this, Zhang Bei immediately frowned.
“Can you elaborate?”
You Bai had been involved in skiing since middle school, winning countless gold medals over the years.
Logically speaking, after so many years of skiing, she shouldn’t have been banned from competitions.
The air grew quiet, and the woman became anxious.
“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with her, and she really loves skiing!”
Zhang Bei nodded, “Can I meet her?”
“Please sit for a moment, I’ll go get her.”
Watching the woman’s hurried figure, Zhang Bei leaned gently back in his chair.
Whether there was a problem or not couldn’t be judged just by a couple of sentences from the woman.
Although the Amusement Park wasn’t very large yet, the staff absolutely couldn’t have any issues.
This was the bottom line, and also an attitude of responsibility toward the visitors.
Not long after, the woman returned with a tall girl.
It was clear from You Bai’s eyes that she had just been crying.
The woman gave You Bai a push, bringing her to stand before Zhang Bei.
“Say something! Do you still want to ski or not!”
You Bai, eyes red, spoke in a low voice, “Mr. Zhang, I really love skiing. The reason I was banned is because, because…”
Zhang Bei waved his hand, interrupting her.
“I understand. Report to the Amusement Park tomorrow.”
By now, Zhang Bei didn’t need You Bai to continue.
When skiing was mentioned, the light in her eyes couldn’t be faked.
Someone who loves skiing this much, no matter why she was banned.
At least she wouldn’t fake anything when it came to skiing, and that’s enough for the Amusement Park!
The woman pulled You Bai and thanked Zhang Bei.
Zhang Bei waved his hand, gathering the five files together.
“Notify the others for me, have them all report tomorrow.”
The woman nodded, hesitated for a moment,
“If you hadn’t come today, You Bai might never have skied again in her life.”
Zhang Bei was taken aback, “Why do you say that?”
The woman gave a bitter smile, “Most ski resorts in the world now are built for competition teams.
And all these places have one rule: no athletes with a record are allowed in.”
Zhang Bei touched his nose. Having never been involved in skiing, he naturally didn’t know about these things.
The woman paused, then continued, “To stop someone who loves skiing this much from skiing is worse than killing her.”
Zhang Bei nodded gently, “I understand.”
By afternoon, he finally returned to the Amusement Park.
The visitors hadn’t decreased at all, and the newly hired staff were gradually becoming more skilled.
The screams from the Drop Tower continued, and the Morgue was still filled with visitors lying down.
Feeling the familiar atmosphere, Zhang Bei casually picked up a cup of sour plum soup and took a sip.
“Hey, boss, you’re back!”
Hearing the voice nearby, Zhang Bei turned his head.
Li Yang handed over a report.
“Bad news, about the scenic spot Rating.”
Zhang Bei reached out, took the report, and glanced at it.
[Ignorant Drop Tower, senseless Bumper Car, final Rating: C]
After quickly reading the entire report, Zhang Bei couldn’t help but laugh.
Li Yang, standing nearby, became anxious, “Boss, how can you laugh? We got a C!”
Zhang Bei nodded, “I know.”
“Then why…”
“Does it matter? Our Amusement Park doesn’t have many attractions to begin with. Even if we got a higher Rating, would it make a difference?”
