Chapter 17
It was clearly a start-of-term exam paper, but the math teacher had been going over it for almost a week and still hadn’t finished.
Every time he explained, he would digress onto other topics. Another math class ended after he finished talking about the three great crises in the history of mathematics.
As the last note of the bell faded, he smiled and said he’d take two more minutes to praise the students who did well on this math test.
“Especially Lu Yici. I didn’t expect you to score 102 after the holiday. Not bad, truly worthy of being Old Li’s student.”
The boys in the class started to cheer, “Brother Ci is awesome!”
Lu Yici lounged lazily against the back of his chair, hands behind his head, rocking the chair back and forth, a slight smirk on his lips, looking as if it was only natural.
Putting aside the fighting, Lu Yici was actually quite popular with the teachers. He was never late or left early, and even if he didn’t pay attention in class, he never deliberately disrupted the classroom discipline.
Occasionally, when he was in the mood, he’d answer questions loudly, making him a pro at creating a lively classroom atmosphere for the teachers.
Maybe he was getting carried away by all the praise, and he really thought he was something.
A few minutes before class started, he suddenly pushed his notebook over for me to see, putting on a mysterious air and telling me, “Yan Qingyue, I’ve discovered a loophole that will collapse the entire mathematics department.”
“Look, 2*0=0, 3*0=0, so 2=3. By that logic, all numbers are equal, so numbers have no meaning anymore.”
His long fingers held a black pen, drawing circles and lines on the paper, looking thoughtful. Finally, he leaned back in his chair, “I declare the fourth mathematical crisis has begun.”
Yi Chao happened to walk by and overheard, glancing over.
I took a slow sip of water. “By that logic, I’m human, your dad is human.”
“So,” the corners of my lips curled up, “I’m your dad.”
“I declare the fourth mathematical crisis resolved.”
Lu Yici: “…”

I transmigrated into a novel, but there was no such character as me in the story.
For seventeen years, I lived as a wealthy and beautiful heiress in the book.
