Chapter 4

Su Yu was much taller than me. As we stood side by side, the top of my head barely reached his shoulder.

He wasn’t standing particularly straight, his posture relaxed and casual.

I, on the other hand, was trembling with nerves. I secretly shuffled to the side, not wanting to be too close to him.

In that dream last night, it was this very body beside me that had pressed down on me like a mountain.

I could still clearly recall the sensation of his weight; he looked lean, but who would have thought he’d be so heavy?

Even though a whole night had passed, my body reacted with an involuntary reflex the moment I got near him.

My ears felt like they were on fire, yet I was too stiff and inhibited to even raise a hand to scratch them.

Su Yu turned his head to look at me. After a moment, he suddenly asked, “Are you afraid of me?”

I looked up with a start, my eyes wide. “Huh? No, I’m not.”

“If you aren’t, then why are you standing so far away?”

Only then did I notice the distance between us. What started as a gap the width of a fist had silently grown large enough for another person to stand between us.

Su Yu looked back toward the front, his expression indifferent. “People will think I’m bullying you.”

I remained silent and had no choice but to shuffle back toward him.

The wind rustled through the treetops, and outside the corridor, the willow branches were sprouting new buds. Spring was in the air.

Deep down, I found myself secretly looking forward to dreaming of him again tonight.
