I arrived at school and stepped into the classroom just as the first bell rang. My eyes immediately darted toward Su Yu’s seat in the very last row.

Everyone was there except for us; our two desks, one in front of the other, sat conspicuously empty.

The classroom was familiar, the classmates were familiar-everything was exactly as it had always been.

In a daze, I sat down and stuffed my bag into the desk drawer.

My seatmate, Lu An, adjusted her glasses and leaned over. “Huanhuan, what were you up to last night?”

Even though she was severely nearsighted, her intuition was incredibly sharp. She was the kind of person who could tell the gender of our homeroom teacher from a mile away.

Panic flared in me, and I practically shouted, “I didn’t do anything!”

The students around us all turned to look at me.

I quickly clamped my hand over my mouth.

Lu An gave me a suspicious look. “I just asked a casual question. Why are you overreacting?”

The sound of footsteps came from the front door. I looked up, sensing his presence before I even saw him.

Then, my eyes met Su Yu’s.

Su Yu was the most handsome boy in our school.

Not only was he good-looking, but his grades were also among the best. The number of girls who liked him was countless.

Realizing he was looking back at me, I hurriedly lowered my head and pretended to flip through my textbook.
