Chapter 11

I was drowsy from the very first period of the morning, spending every break slumped over my desk to catch up on sleep.

It was so strange. How could pulling an all-nighter in a dream leave me feeling like I hadn’t slept at all after waking up?

I barely managed to hold on until school let out. Lu An woke me up, asking wonderingly why I was so sleepy today.

I straightened my back and rubbed my eyes in a daze, just in time to hear Su Yu’s seatmate calling out to him as well: “Hey, hey! Class is over. Time to get up.”

I couldn’t help but look back, coming face-to-face with Su Yu as he slowly sat up.

Both Su Yu and I were the picture of exhaustion. I saw a thin mist clouding his eyes, which cleared into a faint smile when he met my gaze.

I looked at him, and he looked at me.

I remembered being at this exact same distance in last night’s dream.

Except, there had been a cute little baby between us.

With that thought, it suddenly dawned on me that the baby in the dream really did look quite a lot like him.

“You two have something going on, don’t you?” Su Yu’s seatmate suddenly interjected, smirking. “Did you pull an all-nighter together last night?”

My eyes darted away, and I spun around quickly to stop looking at them. Then I heard Su Yu swat his seatmate with a book, saying a lukewarm, “Get lost.”

Su Yu had been acting out of character quite a lot lately.

All these coincidences were starting to give me an incredibly far-fetched idea.
