I hurriedly hung up the video call.

The project Lu Jingli was working on was already at its final stage. I had put up with it for more than half a year, and I didn’t want anything unexpected to happen at the last minute.

I opened the door and looked up at him.

“Well? Have you finished comforting your mistress? Does she know you’re knocking on my door in the middle of the night?”

Lu Jingli frowned, his face dark.

He lowered his voice and asked again, “Who was it?”

I rolled my eyes and couldn’t help but curse, “None of your damn business.”

“Chen Shiyu, are you fucking seeing someone else now?!”

I glanced at his hands, clenched so tightly the knuckles were turning white, and found it quite amusing.

He’d been cheating on me so blatantly, almost as if he wanted the whole world to know he’d cuckolded me.

Now, just hearing a hint of a rumor and he couldn’t take it?

“And who exactly are you to ask me that?”

I crossed my arms, leaning against the doorframe. “Are you my cheating husband, or Meng Xingyue’s boyfriend?

“People who are dirty themselves see filth everywhere.”

Lu Jingli glared at me, his eyes looking like he wanted to cut me to pieces.

He reached out his hand toward me. “Give me your phone.”

I couldn’t be bothered with him, so I retreated into my room and slammed the door in his face.

Lu Jingli went crazy, pounding on the door with all his might. Annoyed, I sent Meng Xingyue a message.

[Your man is knocking on my door, probably hoping to have a little fun with me. Should I just go and open the door now?]

A few minutes later, it finally quieted down.

I let out a long sigh, tossed my phone aside, and fell onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling.

My WeChat notification kept going off.

I didn’t know if it was Jiang Yubai, or Meng Xingyue, or maybe both of them desperately texting me.

Whoever it was, I didn’t want to look at it right now.

So annoying.
