“Blow up their car!”

Zheng Shushuang was barking out orders.

Wang Ming stood right behind her, leaning against the back of her gaming chair as he watched.

Zheng Shushuang successfully secured the ‘winner winner chicken dinner.’

Wang Ming had already figured out how to trick her. He tapped her on the shoulder. “Excuse me…”

Zheng Shushuang turned around and looked at him. She didn’t recognize Wang Ming, though he seemed vaguely familiar.

During her commutes home, she never set foot in the apartment building, but she had coincidentally passed Wang Ming once or twice. However, those weren’t the kind of memories that stuck.

“Who are you?” she asked, her tone laced with annoyance.

Wang Ming gathered his thoughts, cleared his throat awkwardly, and said, “You’re pretty fierce at PUBG.”

Zheng Shushuang arched a playful eyebrow. “You bet.”

She scanned Wang Ming. He was good-looking, muscular, and quite tall. Her tone gradually softened. “Trying to hit on me? I have a boyfriend, you know.”

“So what if you have a husband? He’s just a boyfriend.”

Zheng Shushuang giggled, her eyes continuing to linger on Wang Ming. “It’s not easy to chase me. This lady isn’t short on cash. But seeing as you’ve got looks, if you have any other… strengths, I might give you a chance to get to know me.”

Zheng Shushuang froze. “A hundred thousand?”

“Yeah.”

Seeing the serious look on Wang Ming’s face, Zheng Shushuang stood up, crossing her arms as she sized him up again. “You aren’t seriously trying to court me, are you?”

Wang Ming shook his head. “I just want to spend some time with a beautiful woman. A hundred thousand for a hike-it’s a win for you.”

Zheng Shushuang knit her brows, thinking it over before she laughed. “If you can actually produce a hundred thousand yuan, I’ll even ride a roller coaster with you. But if you’re messing with me, I’ll have my boyfriend teach you a lesson!”

Although Zheng Shushuang came from a wealthy family, her monthly allowance was only ten thousand yuan. To get a hundred thousand just for a hike? Who wouldn’t want that?

Wang Ming hadn’t expected a hundred thousand to make her so compliant. He immediately pulled out his phone.

“Give me your QR code. I’ll scan it now.”

Zheng Shushuang pulled out her phone, still skeptical.

Zheng Shushuang put her hands on her hips, her voice tinged with a hint of pride.

Wang Ming didn’t even have to think. “Right now.”

Zheng Shushuang shrugged. “Fine, whatever you say. But let me get one thing straight: don’t hold me back when we’re climbing. I have great stamina, so don’t make me wait for you.”

Wang Ming smirked thoughtfully. If she really inherited it, her stamina would definitely be good; Zheng Shushuang wasn’t being arrogant.

“What are you smiling at?” Zheng Shushuang asked, pouting in confusion.

Wang Ming immediately pushed the image of Jia Fang out of his mind. “Uh, if your boyfriend finds out you’re on a date with someone else, won’t he dump you?”

Zheng Shushuang rolled her eyes. “Don’t worry about him. I’ve wanted to kick him to the curb for a while now. He’s a useless guy-gets tired after just a few games. His stamina can’t keep up!”

Wang Ming teased, “Wow, sounds like you have pretty high standards.”

Zheng Shushuang huffed. “Of course. To be honest, my family isn’t short on money. I’m so outstanding that if a boyfriend doesn’t have some impressive skills to show for it, how could he be worthy of me?”
The two of them walked out of the internet cafe.

Wang Ming led Zheng Shushuang over to the Beetle car.

Zheng Shushuang looked at the car with a face full of confusion, wrinkling her nose as she asked, “Why are you driving such an old car?”

She couldn’t wrap her head around it. Someone who dropped a hundred thousand yuan just like that should at least be driving a sports car-or a Maserati at the very least.

Wang Ming smiled as he opened the car door, saying unhurriedly, “I like nostalgia. I’ve always had a thing for these old cars.”

That was what he said, but who didn’t love sports cars? It was just that all his money had been tied up in investments.

Zheng Shushuang climbed into the car, half-convinced, though she still muttered under her breath:

“I really don’t get your weird tastes. And this interior… why is it decorated so girlishly?”

The car started up slowly. Along the way, Wang Ming and Zheng Shushuang chatted about many things.

Wang Ming discovered that Zheng Shushuang’s personality was indeed very similar to her mother’s. Both were extroverted and confident, and… well, a bit seductive.

Zheng Shushuang spoke with animated expressions, and her sense of unfamiliarity with Wang Ming gradually faded away.

Soon, the two arrived at the foot of Baiyun Mountain.

Zheng Shushuang finally couldn’t take it anymore. She plopped down on a rock, gasping for air.

Wang Ming turned back and walked to her side, taking a bottle of water from his bag and handing it to her. “Drink some water and catch your breath. There’s no rush.”

Zheng Shushuang took the water and gulped down several mouthfuls. Once she regained her composure, she said, “I didn’t expect this mountain to be such a struggle. It didn’t look that high.”

Wang Ming said with a smile, “My stamina is pretty good, right?”

Zheng Shushuang shot him a look, her eyes twinkling. “It’s truly wonderful…”

Suddenly, her phone rang.

Zheng Shushuang pulled it out. “I need to take this.”

She pressed the phone to her ear, listening to the voice on the other end.

Her heavy breathing stopped instantly. “What!”

“You’re lying!”

Zheng Shushuang’s words became increasingly heated, her emotions spiraling out of control.

Wang Ming frowned. Judging by her state, something major had happened. Had Zheng Shushuang’s boyfriend seen her getting into his car?
