Wang Ming rushed to the office, his hurried footsteps carrying him straight into Jiang Yao’s office.
Jiang Yao was sitting at her desk, focused intently on some documents.
Hearing the commotion, she looked up, a flash of surprise crossing her eyes.
“Oh my… now that you’re a manager, you don’t even knock anymore?” she teased.
Wang Ming strode up to Jiang Yao and thrust his phone in front of her. “Boss Jiang, take a look at this.”
Jiang Yao took the phone, her gaze falling on the screen which displayed a bank account balance of 5.5 million.
Her eyes widened instantly, her face filled with disbelief. “This… where did all this money come from?”
“Don’t worry about that. Just know that it’s clean.”
Jiang Yao frowned. “Stop joking around. Where would you get so much money? You’re just messing with me with a fake screenshot, right?”
Wang Ming flashed a confident smile. “I’ll transfer it to you right now. Give me the company’s account details.”
Jiang Yao hesitated for a moment before giving the account information to Wang Ming.
Wang Ming quickly operated his phone. A moment later, Jiang Yao’s phone began to chime repeatedly with message notifications.
When Jiang Yao opened the messages, she practically leaped out of her executive chair.
Staring fixedly at her phone, her lips parted slightly, and her voice cracked with emotion.
“It… it really arrived. Five million…”
She looked up at Wang Ming, her face a mask of shock. “You… where on earth did you get this much money?”
Wang Ming shoved his hands into his pockets and paused to think.
He hadn’t quite figured out how to explain the source of the money to Jiang Yao yet; he certainly couldn’t say he’d just picked it up.
“Boss Jiang, my family’s land was requisitioned for redevelopment. Now, about those forty-nine shares you promised me-are you going to deliver?”
“Redevelopment? Five million? Where exactly is your hometown?”
“I’ll tell you later. Let’s talk business for now.”
Jiang Yao took a deep breath, trying her best to calm herself down. “Fine. I promised, so I’ll give you a forty-nine percent share of the dividends.”
Wang Ming nodded. “Boss Jiang, I’ll leave the company’s expansion to you. Also, I won’t be able to come to the office for a while. I have some important things to take care of.”
Jiang Yao walked over to Wang Ming and rested her hand on his shoulder.
“You can take as much time off as you want. The company is your second home. You’re a shareholder now, so just sit back and wait for your dividends.”
She paused, her face flushing as she lowered her voice to a mumble. “It’s just… when my son misses you, could you come and play with him for a bit?”
It was only then that she realized the blinds weren’t closed, and she hurriedly pulled her hand away from Wang Ming.
Wang Ming gave a meaningful smile. Before binding Jiang Yao, he certainly wouldn’t have had the patience to deal with her young son.
But now, the System task involved her son. Although it would be difficult, he had to try for the sake of the rewards.
“Sure, whenever I’m free.”
Jiang Yao arched an eyebrow, her lips pouting slightly. “Alright then. Since it’s come to this, I guess I’m the one who has to do all the hard work. Not only do I have to review everything myself, but I also have to expand the company. Are you really not going to participate in the expansion process?”
Wang Ming shook his head.
“You handle it. I trust you.”
The Bound Target Info Panel on the System interface showed that Jiang Yao’s Infatuation Value had already reached 85.
Seeing Wang Ming staring at her so intently, Jiang Yao blushed and cleared her throat softly.
“You really went all out for me, didn’t you? Throwing your entire redevelopment payout at me just like that.”
Wang Ming snapped back to reality. “Ah… it’s not like I’m giving it to you for free. I’ll still be getting my share of the company dividends.”
“Mhm. I’ll make sure the company’s expansion is handled perfectly.”
Wang Ming smiled and said, “With your capabilities, I’m naturally a hundred percent at ease. Once I’ve handled my business outside and come back, I’ll just be waiting to count the money with you.”
Jiang Yao rolled her eyes at him, but the corners of her mouth couldn’t help but curve upward. “You and your silver tongue. By the way, how long will you be away? I need to make some plans.”
Wang Ming scratched his head. “I’m not sure yet, but I’ll keep in touch with you at all times.”
Jiang Yao nodded and walked to the window. Looking out at the CBD street view, she murmured, “If the company can expand smoothly, the future prospects will definitely be bright.”
Wang Ming walked up behind her and pulled her into an embrace. “If the company does well, I’ll give you a reward.”
Jiang Yao spun around abruptly, her eyes frantic. She pushed Wang Ming away forcefully, her voice tinged with an urgent, bashful heat. “I haven’t closed the blinds yet! The employees might see!”
Wang Ming froze, suddenly remembering Liu Guohua. He cursed inwardly.
If word of this reached Zou Mengmeng’s ears, and if she happened to tell Zou Shuqing, it would be a total disaster.
He quickly let go and stood there awkwardly.
Jiang Yao flusteredly raised her hand to smooth her hair, grumbling, “And you said the investment department was for me, you rogue.
“But let’s get one thing straight. If you don’t give me a proper status, I’m not going to sleep with you. I need to find a father for my child.”
Wang Ming smiled and said, “We’ll talk about that after you’ve expanded the company.
“I’m heading out now.”
“Mhm, keep in touch. I’ll start working on the expansion immediately.”
Wang Ming turned and walked out of the office.
He observed his surroundings cautiously. It seemed no one had noticed the little interaction between him and Jiang Yao just now, and he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
He scanned the room but didn’t see Liu Guohua anywhere.
Wang Ming walked over to an employee’s workstation. Seeing it was Wang Ming, the employee immediately stood up and said respectfully, “Manager.”
“Where’s Liu Guohua?”
“He already resigned.”
A slight smile played on Wang Ming’s lips. *This guy definitely couldn’t handle being my subordinate, hahaha…*
As he walked out of the company, messages on Wei Xin exploded.
Li Zhixuan: [Zhang Jian’s parents have finished the funeral arrangements. The body has been cremated, and they’ve taken the ashes back to their hometown.]
Zou Shuqing: [Honey, I miss you so much after just one day. You must be very busy lately.]
Zhang Ailing: [Are you free today? The water pipe is broken again. (✪ω✪)]
Wang Ming replied to Li Zhixuan: [Mhm, don’t be too sad. Let’s go to the amusement park together when you have time.]
He replied to Zou Shuqing: [The company is very busy. I’ll make time to come see you.]
After replying to Zou Shuqing and Li Zhixuan, he immediately blocked Zhang Ailing, including her phone number.
Since he couldn’t trigger a binding with her, he didn’t want to waste any more time on her.
He couldn’t get too involved with women like that; it would lead to trouble sooner or later.
He went to the mall, bought some nutritional supplements, and drove to Xiaohu District.
Jia Fang’s mother-in-law lived in Xiaohu District.
As long as he could get her to cook a dish for him and have a taste, the first part of the mission would be considered complete.
