Chapter 6
Chapter 6
I poured all my time and energy into my work.
Occasionally, when I caught sight of the studio’s sign, I would find myself thinking that if only I could become someone truly impressive…
Then everything would be fine.
During a business dinner that evening, I drank a bit too much. Cheng Yan hadn’t touched any alcohol.
He drove me home.
As we turned into the residential complex, I spotted that familiar Maybach.
Tong Yuen was wearing a black trench coat, hands shoved in his pockets, leaning silently against the car door.
He was looking up at my window, resembling a quiet, lonely statue.
Cheng Yan had never asked about the two of us, but he had more or less guessed that we had broken up.
“Straight to the underground garage?” he asked.
“No. I need you to… do me a favor.”
As soon as the words left my mouth, Tong Yuen looked over as if sensing something.
I reached out and grabbed Cheng Yan’s tie, pulling him close in a gesture that looked like a kiss.
Tong Yuen froze. On that blank face of his, a storm was brewing.
I had never seen Tong Yuen in a towering rage.
For the past twenty-two years, he had been soaked in a jar of honey.
His life had never known deception, betrayal, abandonment, or hurt.
The sight of the windshield shattering into a spiderweb of cracks was the first time I witnessed Tong Yuen’s total breakdown.
“Holy shit, he’s gone crazy!” Cheng Yan quickly locked the car doors.
Tong Yuen yanked on the door handle twice, but it wouldn’t budge.
“Fu Xun’an!”
He dropped the baseball bat in his hand, wrapped his watch around his fist, and smashed the window with all his might.
Reaching through the jagged hole, he grabbed my collar tightly.
Blood flowed from his forearm, sliced by the shards of glass in the window frame.
I didn’t dare look into his eyes, which were red and brimming with tears.
“Explain yourself to me.”
“Explain it!”
His hands were shaking, his breathing ragged. “Just say something-anything-to tell me it’s not what I’m seeing.”
“Talk to me.”
“Talk to me!”
“It’s exactly what you’re seeing.”
“How could things ever last between me and a kid like you?”
“You’re immature.” *No, you’re not.*
“And clingy.” *No, you’re not.*
“You’re unstable.” *No, you’re not.*
“Being with you is exhausting.” *It was blissful.*
“I’ll change.”
I looked at him in shock, only to see his face covered in tears.
“As long as you say you were just… acting on impulse. That you haven’t fallen for someone else.”
“I’ll pretend nothing happened tonight.”
“I’ll change.”
I got out of the car and stood facing him, yet I still didn’t dare meet his gaze.
“I’ve fallen for someone else. I’m sorry.”
Standing there in the night wind, he looked so fragile, as if he might be swept away at any moment.
But his emotions and his hatred were so heavy.
He said, “Fu Xun’an, I hate you more than anyone else in the world.”

Ex-Boyfriend’s Little White Dog
It was the fourth year of my relationship with Tong Yuen.
The harshest words I had ever heard came from his mother.
“Two men together-how are you supposed to get married and...
