Chapter 4
Chapter 4
Sister Zhou arranged for someone to drive me home.
Sitting in the car, watching the scenery whistle past the window, I couldn’t help but reflect on all these years.
I had been secretly in love with Shen Sui for a long time, but he never knew.
As far as he was concerned, we met for the first time in university.
“So you’re from Lincheng No. 1 High School too? What a coincidence.”
“Yeah, what a coincidence.”
For the sake of those two short sentences, I had burned the midnight oil for three whole years-over a thousand days and nights.
But even then, I was just his junior, one of countless underclassmen.
I manufactured many such “coincidences” just to barely manage to become his friend.
After graduation, he began taking over his family’s business, while I stubbornly entered the entertainment industry.
When we met again, it was at a dinner party. He was the investor, and I was the third female lead.
“Long time no see. Why did you become an actress?”
I said, “Because I like it.”
At the wrap party, I found Shen Sui smoking alone.
Separated by a single door, one side was filled with a cheering, celebrating crowd, while he stood here all by himself.
“Are you unhappy?”
His other hand rested on the railing, his entire posture lazy and relaxed.
When he turned his head to look at me, he casually extinguished the spark in his hand.
He asked me, “Jiang Zhi, do you like me?”
Love is like a cough; it’s impossible to hide.
I was instantly struck dumb.
In the eerie silence, his gaze was burning as it swept over my face and body.
He let out a short laugh.
“Junior, honestly, you’re not my type.”
That title instantly dragged me back to those bitter teenage years-a secret crush in a lonely valley, destined never to find an echo.
The person I had chased throughout my entire youth was standing right in front of me.
In a tone both gentle and cruel, he told me, “There’s no future for us.”
I said, “Oh.”
I blinked rapidly, fighting back the tears.

Don’t Mess With The Ex-Fiancée
It was the eighth year of my unrequited love for Shen Sui, and he still refused to acknowledge me as his fiancée.
He had me pulled from the red carpet just to please his Little Canary.
