Chapter 2
The argument with Huo Qing was just an insignificant little episode.
None of us took the talk about “memorial photos” seriously.
Recently, Zheng Qianfei had been chatting enthusiastically with the handsome guy from her dreams. She was already calling him her boyfriend and was openly talking about her online relationship with him.
They chatted late into the night every day.
In the morning, Zheng Qianfei would get up yawning nonstop to wash up.
Huo Qing stared at her and suddenly blurted out, “Are you really dating a dead person?”
Zheng Qianfei was in the middle of a yawn. At first, she thought she’d misheard, but when she saw Huo Qing staring at her so righteously, anger shot straight to her head:
“Huo Qing! I’ve really put up with you for a long time! I didn’t want to fall out with you, considering we’re roommates!”
“But I really can’t stand it anymore!”
“You’re gloomy like a ghost every day, always talking about memorial photos and dead people. If you can’t say anything nice, you can just keep your mouth shut! What’s the point of deliberately saying such hurtful things? Do you think I’m easy to bully?” Zheng Qianfei snapped, baring her teeth.
Huo Qing remained calm: “The whites of your eyes are dirty, Mars is flickering, your Life Palace is dark, and there’s blackness wrapped around your soles. It’s obvious you’re being haunted by something unclean. I suggest you stop dating a dead person, or once you’re dragged into the world of the dead, you’ll never be able to come back.”
Zheng Qianfei was so infuriated by her serious tone that she nearly coughed up blood.
“You’re crazy! If you’re insane, you should be in a mental hospital! Don’t come to school and act crazy.”
“I’m not sick,” Huo Qing’s gaze was sharp as she asked forcefully, “If your boyfriend is normal, why does he only send you WeChat messages and never voice call or video chat?”
How did she know? I stared in shock.
Zheng Qianfei’s boyfriend really never called or video chatted-he only sent WeChat messages.
She often complained about it, but I was sure that every time she did, she made sure Huo Qing wasn’t in the dorm, so there was no way Huo Qing could have overheard.
Besides, Huo Qing wasn’t popular.
She always gave off a creepy vibe, with her hair covering her face all year round, only showing one eye, the pupil so dark it was scary. Every time she stared at someone, it felt like being gazed at by an abyss, sending chills down your spine.
None of us liked getting close to her, let alone chatting with her.
So, logically, Huo Qing shouldn’t have known about Zheng Qianfei’s relationship habits with her boyfriend.
Zheng Qianfei was stunned for a moment too.
Ren Anran, seeing her friend at a loss for words, stepped in to help: “Feifei’s boyfriend explained that his house is too dark and too small, so it’s inconvenient for video or voice calls.”
Huo Qing snorted coldly: “He’s not lying. But have you ever thought about what kind of place is both dark and small?”
Maybe it was her tone, dripping with contempt, but as soon as she asked, the first thing that popped into my mind was: a coffin!
Only a coffin is both dark and small!
My heart skipped a beat, and I felt a chill run down my spine.
“No matter how small the house is, you can still make a voice call, right? The reason he doesn’t dare to is because his tongue is stiff and heavy, he can’t lift it, can’t speak clearly, and if he tries, you’ll hear it right away.”
