Years ago, Li Yurong and Song Feier had conspired to set her up, causing her to lose her virginity and become pregnant.

Song Zhiguo slammed his hand on the table and stood up. “Song Yunnian! How dare you speak to your mother like that?”

“Heh, I recall my mother is already dead.”

Song Zhiguo raised his hand, intending to slap Song Yunnian across the face, but she reached out and gripped his wrist tightly.

Seeing that Song Yunnian actually dared to resist, Song Zhiguo’s face turned dark with rage.

Song Feier stepped forward and tugged on Song Zhiguo’s sleeve. “Dad, don’t be angry. It’s not worth ruining your health over.”

“Hmph, at least Feier knows how to care for people.” Song Zhiguo’s expression softened instantly as he turned toward Song Feier.

He glanced at Song Yunnian and said coldly, “Fine, now that you’re back, didn’t you start some jewelry company? Close it down immediately and stay home to wait for your marriage.”

Song Feier’s lips curled into a secret smirk, yet she put on a worried face. “Dad, if Sister wants to have a career, let her.”

“What could she possibly achieve? Does she think running a company is child’s play? Does she have the connections or the capital? She has nothing. She’d be better off coming home early and waiting to get married.”

Song Yunnian’s eyes were as cold as ice.

So, when Song Feier lacked money, Song Zhiguo would provide the funds; when she lacked connections, Song Zhiguo would pave the way for her?

They were both Song Zhiguo’s daughters, yet the way he treated her compared to Song Feier was worlds apart.

Although she had seen through the Song family long ago after Li Yurong framed her, Song Yunnian couldn’t help but feel a sense of desolation for herself.

Once, she had constantly hoped to receive even a tenth of the affection Song Feier got, even if it was just a single word of praise.

“Enough, it’s decided. Your past is disgraceful, but you are still a daughter of my Song family after all. I will find a good family for you.”

Li Yurong smiled from the side. “Zhiguo, I think Manager Qian is quite good. Although several of his wives have died, the Qian family is considered wealthy. Yunnian won’t suffer if she marries into it.”

Song Zhiguo’s anger subsided slightly. “Fine. Go to the Qian family tomorrow and negotiate with them.”

The two of them talked amongst themselves, deciding Song Yunnian’s marriage just like that, without any intention of consulting the person involved.

A flash of impatience crossed Song Yunnian’s features. She said chillingly, “Take me to see Auntie Yu.”

Li Yurong gave Song Feier a meaningful look.

Song Feier stepped forward and took Song Yunnian’s arm, saying affectionately, “Sister, don’t be in such a hurry. I’ll take you to see Auntie Yu right now. We’ve been taking very good care of her all these years.”

Song Yunnian sneered and calmly pulled her hand away.

“Lead the way.”

Song Feier led Song Yunnian toward the Song family’s basement. A stifling, heavy atmosphere hit them.

The further Song Yunnian walked inside, the more a fire of rage burned in her heart.

She hadn’t expected Auntie Yu to be living in such an environment for the past few years. Was this what Song Feier meant by “taking good care” of her?

In a corner of the basement lay a bed. A thin, middle-aged woman was lying on it. Hearing the commotion, she struggled to prop herself up.

“Second Miss, didn’t you say I could see the Eldest Miss today? Where is the Eldest Miss?”

Song Yunnian’s eyes grew hot. She hurried forward to support her. “Auntie Yu, it’s me, Song Yunnian.”
