Song Feier rushed back to the Song family home in tears to complain to Li Yurong.
“Mom, that bitch Song Yunnian really did seduce Yanchen. I’m going to kill her! I’m going to kill her!”
Her eyes were bloodshot and her fists were clenched tight as she repeated the words over and over.
Li Yurong was a bit surprised and quickly pulled her into an embrace. “What happened?”
Song Feier told her about going to Fu Corporation to deliver soup, only to run into Song Yunnian and be taunted by her.
“Mom, Song Yunnian really slept with Yanchen. What should I do? Will Yanchen abandon me?”
Song Feier sobbed until she was breathless, looking utterly pitiful.
She choked out between sobs, “We worked so hard to get close to Fu Yanchen. I was just one step away from becoming Madam Fu. I can’t just hand everything over to her! I won’t accept this!”
Li Yurong, having weathered many storms, didn’t show a hint of panic.
Her eyes darkened. After a moment of thought, she said, “It’s alright. Things haven’t reached their worst yet. I still have a way to make that little bitch lose everything and ruin her reputation.”
Song Feier stopped crying. “What? Mom, what’s your plan?”
A cold, sharp glint flashed in Li Yurong’s eyes. She said slowly, “That old thing who used to serve Jiang Zhining… we’ve had her locked in the basement for years.
“We’ll use her as bait to lure Song Yunnian back.
“Humph! In the Song family home, we’re the ones in charge. When she gets here, we’ll take nude photos of her and release them to the public.
“With such a massive scandal on top of her past, I don’t believe she’ll have the face to stay in Yuncheng any longer!”
Song Feier laughed at this and let out a cold snort. “Mom, you’re the best. Once she’s mired in scandal, even if Song Yunnian slept with Yanchen, there’s no way she can marry into the Fu Family.”
Her face twisted with malice as she smiled. “This time, I’ll drag her down to hell and make sure she never recovers!”
As Song Yunnian was driving away from Fu Corporation, she received a call from Song Feier.
She glanced at it coldly, knowing the other woman was calling just to curse at her. She could practically recite Song Feier’s insults by heart.
Song Yunnian didn’t pick up.
The call timed out, but the phone immediately started ringing again.
Song Yunnian’s eyes darkened. It actually seemed quite satisfying to imagine Song Feier fuming on the other end.
So, she swiped to answer.
Song Feier’s voice came through the Bluetooth speakers. “Song Yunnian, come back to the Song family home tomorrow. I have something to tell you.”
Surprisingly, Song Feier didn’t start shouting insults. Instead, she was setting a Hongmen Banquet-her intentions were obvious.
Hearing this, Song Yunnian let out a mocking smile and said flatly, “And why should I?”
Song Feier choked for a moment. “That old thing who was by your mother’s side, Auntie Yu, is still at the Song family home. She’s about to die of illness. Don’t you want to come see her?”
“Where is she?” Song Yunnian gripped the steering wheel tighter, her expression darkening.
“At the Song family home, of course. We’ve taken very good care of her all these years. Anyway, whether you come or not is up to you. That old woman doesn’t look like she has many days left.”
Song Yunnian gritted her teeth. “Fine. I’ll be there.”
She had always thought that after her mother died, there was nothing left of her except for a few mementos. She never expected there to be a person left behind.
Auntie Yu had served her mother since before she married into the Song family. They shared a deep bond; she would surely know the truth about her mother’s past.
For the sake of the truth behind her mother’s death, she would walk into this Hongmen Banquet, no matter what Song Feier had planned.
