Song Yunnian walked back to Fu Yanchen and said, “President Fu, you don’t want to go back, do you? Honestly, if you want to make do and stay at my place for one night, that’s fine, but… you know.”

Fu Yanchen’s mouth curled in a sardonic smile. “And?”

Song Yunnian said with perfect confidence, “I don’t have any extra rooms. You’re sleeping on the couch-and no refunds!”

As if afraid he’d argue, she immediately added, “This is my biggest concession. Otherwise, you can take Fu Chengyi and leave.”

Either way, she was the one with the advantage.

Fu Yanchen didn’t think long before nodding. “Fine.”

Song Yunnian fell silent for a moment. “Alright. I’ll get you a pillow and a blanket.”

Not long after, she came out of the bedroom with a blanket and pillow, plus a set of men’s pajamas.

Fu Yanchen’s gaze dimmed. Song Wanxing’s earlier comment about a love rival suddenly flashed through his mind. It seemed that man had stayed here more than once, to have left pajamas behind.

Song Yunnian didn’t think much of it. The pajamas really did belong to Mo Bai.

It wasn’t like she often let Mo Bai stay over. Only when she had to travel for work would she need someone to keep an eye on Song Wanxing.

She’d never been alone in a room with Mo Bai.

But none of that was something she needed to explain to Fu Yanchen.

Soon, Song Yunnian finished her shower. Her pajamas were conservative, and without makeup she looked even younger-her fair, clean skin as smooth and delicate as a freshly peeled hard-boiled egg.

Even though she was wrapped up in loose, modest sleepwear, Fu Yanchen couldn’t help recalling her flawless, alluring figure back at the Song family.

A man who was usually unmoved by anything, he could feel heat quietly rising through his blood.

After showering, Song Yunnian went straight into her room and shut the door, clearly with no intention of chatting with Fu Yanchen.

The door cut them off from each other.

In the middle of the night, Song Yunnian got up for some water. Half-asleep, she completely forgot there was still a grown man in her apartment.

In the darkness, she headed toward the kitchen by habit.

Fu Yanchen was tall, and the couch was nowhere near long enough for him. His long legs hung off the end.

Song Yunnian walked past and tripped over him.

She lurched forward.

“Ow!”

Fu Yanchen, totally unprepared, was slammed hard by Song Yunnian’s weight. Their bodies pressed tightly together.

Song Yunnian bared her teeth in pain, feeling like she’d crashed into a solid wall.

Since when was her couch this hard?

Fu Yanchen let out a muffled grunt and caught her by the waist. “Miss Song, if you’re trying to throw yourself at me, there’s really no need to be so intense. I can cooperate just fine.”

His deep voice sounded right by her ear, and Song Yunnian jolted.

She fumbled, trying to scramble up, but the hand at her waist clamped down like iron tongs, holding her firmly in place.

Song Yunnian fell heavily back onto him again. This time she didn’t know what she’d landed on-only that it was uncomfortably hard.

Feeling the muscles beneath her growing more and more rigid, Song Yunnian braced a hand on his chest. “Fu Yanchen, let go of me.”

Fu Yanchen’s voice dropped even lower. “Don’t move.”

As if she’d listen. It was obvious he was taking advantage of her.

In that instant, Song Yunnian regretted it. Was her brain full of water? She’d actually kept Fu Yanchen here-like a lamb meekly delivering herself into a tiger’s jaws.

In the darkness, Fu Yanchen’s eyes were black as ink.

He was completely sure of it now. Even without any drugs in his system, he truly reacted to Song Yunnian.

Her soft body, her hair carrying a faint, sweet scent-every inch of her was a lethal temptation to him.
