The atmosphere in the garden was bizarre.

Madam Fu had been caught cheating in public at the Song family birthday banquet with a member of the Fu Family’s side branch. This was enough to shock everyone.

However, out of fear of Fu Yanchen, no one dared to gossip openly; they only spoke in hushed whispers.

After learning the man was Fu Shijie, Old Master Song’s blood pressure had spiked from anger, and he had already been taken away to rest.

Everyone was waiting to see how Fu Yanchen would handle the situation.

A servant approached and whispered to Fu Yanchen, “President Fu, Madam requests that you go upstairs to discuss some matters.”

Fu Yanchen’s gaze was cold as he headed upstairs.

Song Zhiguo followed immediately behind him.

Once the two of them left, the guests finally dared to speak up.

“The Song family is truly bold. Now that Song Feier has become Madam Fu, she still dares to do something like this? Aren’t they afraid of offending the Fu Family?”

“Song Feier did bear a child for the Fu Family, after all. I suppose she thinks President Fu won’t do anything to her.”

“Heh, won’t do anything? She doesn’t even have a formal title yet. What does it matter if she had a child?”

How could Song Yunnian miss the show she had personally orchestrated? She put down her plate and headed for the second floor.

Inside the room, Song Feier was already dressed and leaning weakly in Li Yurong’s arms.

Fu Shijie was sitting on the floor. Li Yurong had made him get dressed, but he had just been beaten up and looked pathetic with his bruised and swollen face.

Upon entering, Song Zhiguo kicked Fu Shijie in a fit of rage and roared, “You beast!”

Fu Shijie was already frail, and after the beating, he was very weak. The kick from Song Zhiguo made him black out and faint.

Fu Yanchen walked in with a frigid expression.

Seeing him, Song Feier immediately burst into tears. “Yanchen, I’m innocent! You have to believe me. I didn’t know anything! It was this man! He tried to defile me.”

She tried to throw herself at Fu Yanchen, but his intimidating gaze froze her in place, and she didn’t dare step forward.

Li Yurong stepped forward and said, “Yanchen, you must seek justice for Feier!”

Fu Yanchen curled his lips into a half-smile. “Seek justice? Does that mean Song Feier wants to marry Fu Shijie? I could certainly make that happen.”

Hearing this, Song Feier panicked.

“No, Yanchen, I was framed. How could I possibly want to marry Fu Shijie?”

She sobbed heart-wrenchingly, looking aggrieved and pitiful.

Unfortunately, in Fu Yanchen’s eyes, this failed to stir even a hint of sympathy. He felt no affection for Song Feier.

Li Yurong stepped forward. “Yanchen, Feier was caught in a trap this time. You have to believe her. How could she ever betray you?”

With tear-filled eyes, Song Feier said hoarsely, “Yanchen, you have to help me. If something happens to me, what will happen to Chengyi? He’ll surely be ridiculed by everyone.”

Fu Yanchen’s gaze darkened, and his brow furrowed.

He had indeed intended to do what Song Zhiguo expected, but Fu Chengyi was his son after all.

Even if he had a mother like Song Feier, it didn’t change their blood relation.

This matter could not be allowed to spread.

“Take him out,” Fu Yanchen said, glancing indifferently at Fu Shijie before turning to leave.

As he passed the doorway, he saw Song Yunnian leaning against the doorframe with a smile.

She quickly stepped aside to let him pass.
