Several people immediately turned to Song Yunnian with gossiping eyes, eager to press for more details.
“Eldest Miss Song, is what you’re saying true?”
Song Zhiguo’s blood pressure spiked. “Song Yunnian, shut up! That was so many years ago. What’s so strange about Feier having had a boyfriend?”
Was she trying to make things even more chaotic?
Song Feier had indeed had boyfriends in the past, but she had never dated Fu Shijie.
Song Yunnian blinked and took a sharp breath. “No, I misspoke. Please, don’t mind me.”
She didn’t look like she had misspoken at all; it was glaringly obvious she had realized her “mistake” and was trying to cover it up.
In an instant, everyone felt they had uncovered the truth.
Song Feier used to date Fu Shijie, and while Fu Yanchen was busy with work, the two had hooked up again.

Song Zhiguo felt as if disaster were imminent. He hurried forward to smooth things over. “Yanchen, this must be a misunderstanding. Please, don’t be angry.”
Fu Yanchen’s voice carried a sharp edge of hostility as he sneered, “A misunderstanding? Everyone saw Song Feier willingly lying beneath another man.”
“This…” Cold sweat poured down Song Zhiguo’s forehead.
Regardless of the circumstances, the fact remained that Song Feier had been caught in bed with another man. Even if they hadn’t finished the act, it was a massive humiliation for Fu Yanchen.
It was only natural for him to be furious; no man would tolerate his woman being involved with someone else.
Song Zhiguo steeled himself and said, “Yanchen, Feier is your woman after all. If you don’t step in, how can she ever show her face again?”
He had no other choice but to play that card. He wanted to force Fu Yanchen to suppress the scandal for Song Feier’s sake.
Fu Yanchen’s eyes turned icy. He said tonelessly, “So, you want me to just accept this?”
“No, it’s just…” Song Zhiguo was frantic. If Fu Yanchen didn’t act, this scandal would spread throughout all of Yuncheng.
He couldn’t let Song Feier be ruined.
They still needed to rely on her to maintain their connection to the Fu Family.
