Chapter 2
Chapter 2
It didn’t sound all that interesting.
But I didn’t have anything better to do anyway.
I actually started discussing it with the System in earnest-what kind of magnificent way I should choose to die tomorrow…
Arson? Jumping off a building? Drowning?
Ever since evening fell, the System’s voice had become exceptionally gentle.
[It is merely leaving this current world, and I will help you eliminate the sensation of pain.]
I hummed in response.
I picked up my phone and scrolled through my social media feed one last time.
A new post had been shared by one of Shi Juan’s childhood friends.
It was a photo of a sports car.
Accompanied by two short lines of text:
[Haven’t seen this guy drag racing in the city center for a long time.
[The power of a ‘White Moonlight’ is truly something else!]
Shi Juan’s family had deep roots, with businesses spread across the entire country.
He had grown up in the lap of luxury, getting whatever he wanted.
The friends around him were almost all second-generation rich, many of whom could be described as typical playboys.
Their usual hobbies were the same few things: racing, surfing, or hitting the bars.
After Shi Juan and I got together, he rarely went to bars anymore.
But he would still occasionally go mountain racing.
That was until an accident happened a few years ago.
He crashed into a guardrail, leaving half his body covered in blood, and spent half a month in the hospital.
It was only after his grandfather gave him a severe lecture that he quit for good.
“He’s started racing again?”
I was somewhat puzzled and asked the System.
[It is not racing.]
[Yan Yan suddenly had chest pains. He is driving her to the hospital. Not only has he run several red lights, but he is also severely speeding.]
This was the city center.
I frowned. If something really happened, he wouldn’t be the only one getting hurt; he would drag others down with him.
A few minutes passed, and several of the mutual friends Shi Juan and I shared began leaving comments under the post.
[Is he crazy? Didn’t he say he was going to propose to Chang Xue yesterday? What’s this drag racing nonsense?]
[Hahaha, sister, update your info. Yan Yan is back in the country. There’s no way Shi Juan wants Chang Xue anymore!]
[Watch your mouth. Setting the proposal aside, drag racing in the city center is just wrong.]
[Exactly, it’s so dangerous. What if he hits someone?]
[Has Shi Juan forgotten the time his grandfather beat him with a belt?]
[He’s already severely speeding. This guy needs to learn his lesson!]
I let out a soft hum.
“Let’s leave it at that,” I told the System. “Where is Shi Juan now?”
[He dropped Yan Yan off at the hospital and is now rushing to drive elsewhere to pick up her prescription.]
I see.
That works.
“I’ve decided on the way I’ll leave this world.”
I twirled the pen in my hand.
“Rather than letting an accident happen where he actually hits someone else, I’d much rather see something.”
“I want to see what kind of expression he makes when he realizes that, for the sake of his ‘White Moonlight,’ he personally pushed me into the abyss.”

Broken Promise
I’ve spent five years trying to win Shi Juan’s heart.
As long as he proposed to me on my birthday, I would have been allowed to stay in this world.
But I waited until the...
