My sister and I are twins; she was born exactly one hour before me.

If Jiang Shang’s prediction was accurate, then it had already come true-when my sister was rescued from the lake a few days ago, her heart had indeed stopped.

Could that have been the fulfillment of the prophecy?

I was certain I’d heard the doctor say her heart had stopped beating. Her subsequent awakening was nothing short of a miracle.

In the dead of night, I quietly headed upstairs, clutching the mirror I had borrowed from Jiang Shang.

The rest of us slept on the second floor, while she slept alone on the fourth. She didn’t even allow us to go upstairs.
