If someone inside doesn’t open the door after you knock,

a normal person would choose to call or shout loudly for the person inside to open up.

But Zhou Qiang, who was outside, knocked for a full six or seven minutes. He didn’t call, nor did he say a single word.

He wasn’t anxious or annoyed; he just kept pounding on the door mechanically.

Listen to me.

Tang Xin finally sensed that something was wrong.

He pressed his face to the peephole once again.

Then, as if he’d seen a ghost, he collapsed to the ground in fright, his voice trembling.

“Xiao Lin, Xiao Lin, come here and look! Behind Zhou Qiang, behind him… is there a Black Shadow?”

I mustered up my courage and looked toward the door.

Zhou Qiang was still expressionless, pounding hard on the door.

The moment he raised his hand,

I saw that his wrist was tightly gripped by a black claw.

It was that claw pulling his hand, forcing it to smash against the door.

Zhou Qiang’s five fingers were smashed to a pulp, bloody and mangled, even the bones shattered, white bone connected to flesh, and with each slam against the door, blood splattered everywhere.

But he seemed to feel no pain. He didn’t run, didn’t make a fuss, just obediently let the Black Shadow manipulate him.

He moved like a walking corpse, with a strange smile still lingering at the corner of his mouth.

Wait, a walking corpse…

His face pressed against the peephole once again.

And this time, I saw clearly: Zhou Qiang’s eyes were still wide open, but they were lifeless, his pupils already dilated.

Zhou Qiang was dead.

He was being held up by the scalp by the Black Shadow, propped up at the door.

And that Black Shadow was clearly a gigantic Black Bear.

Its bloody maw was wide open, revealing sharp fangs, staring menacingly at the peephole.

And Zhou Qiang, in front of it, was like a puppet with its strings cut.

It gripped Zhou Qiang’s hand, imitating a human knocking on the door, slamming it again and again.

The Black Bear wanted to use the corpse to trick us into opening the door.
