Chapter 2
The knocking on the door was heavy and loud.
Bang, bang, bang-each knock sounded more like someone was pounding on the door.
Tang Xin patted his forehead. “Oh, my guest has arrived. Chef Lin, I’ll leave the kitchen to you. I’m going to answer the door.”
Tang Xin spoke as he walked toward the entrance.
The kitchen wasn’t far from the front door.
I watched him take one step after another toward the door.
Suddenly, I felt that something was off.
There was clearly a doorbell, so why would this person choose to knock so hard instead of ringing it?
To be safe, I quickly stopped him.
“Wait, don’t open the door yet.”
