Chapter 5
The four of us had been rehearsing Swan Lake for a long time, determined not to make any mistakes during the final official performance.
So, we agreed to have our last rehearsal before going on stage at 1 p.m. on May 1st.
On that day, I arrived at the Ballet Club’s dance studio as promised and practiced with them.
Golden sunlight streamed into the classroom, warm and bright.
I noticed a light sheen of sweat on their faces, so I volunteered to fetch some water for them.
Our Ballet Club is quite luxurious, with everything we could need. Right next to the training room is the lounge, which has a water dispenser.
I gathered all four cups and went to the lounge, took out the poison I had bought in advance, and put it into each of the four cups.
After filling the cups with water and mixing them, I returned to the studio and handed them to the others.
They didn’t suspect anything and drank it down in one gulp.
What happened afterwards is known to the police: during the May Day Gala, while we were dancing, the poison took effect.
