Chapter 3

Counting me, the Male Lead and Female Lead’s team consisted of six people. Aside from the two leads and that idiot who tried to molest me, there was a fifteen-year-old boy with a Lightning Type superpower and a middle-aged woman with a wood-based superpower. That woman, Aunt Xu, had been the Male Lead’s nanny before the Apocalypse.

Xu Tianwei was Aunt Xu’s cousin.

I sat quietly by the door, flipping through a cartoon picture book.

Yes, even though children’s books were worthless items that no one would want in the Apocalypse, Yu Qingyan and Qin Baizhou had picked them up one by one from bookstores. They had torn off the plastic packaging stained with dust and blood and carefully stacked them up for me to read whenever I was bored.

“Ying’er, ta-da! Look what I brought for you?”

A scrambled 3×3 Rubik’s Cube appeared in front of me. Behind the cube was the Female Lead’s beautiful face, wearing a beaming smile.

I took it with a curious expression. “A Rubik’s Cube?”

Yu Qingyan took the opportunity to ruffle my hair, smiling as she said, “That’s right. I was afraid you’d be bored…”

Three seconds later.

The Rubik’s Cube was solved in my hands.

Yu Qingyan met my innocent eyes, her mouth twitching slightly. “…”

A lazy, deep voice sounded from behind her. “Yanyan, I told you already, Nianying has a very high IQ. Giving her that to play with is no different from making an adult study one plus one. There was no point in bringing it back…”

Immediately after, an exceptionally handsome and superior face appeared. His features, reminiscent of a traditional ink wash painting, held a relaxed smile. His skin was fair, and his posture was as upright as a pine tree, radiating an aura that naturally put people at ease.

This was the Male Lead, Qin Baizhou.

Yu Qingyan turned around in annoyance, pulled a scrambled 5×5 Rubik’s Cube from her bag, and threw it at him. “Would it kill you to keep your mouth shut? I’m giving you five seconds to solve this, or you’re sleeping alone this month!”

Five seconds to solve a Fifth Tier Rubik’s Cube?!

Qin Baizhou caught the cube, looking as if the sky were falling. He muttered, “…I can’t do that. I’d rather you ask me to kill fifty zombies in five seconds…”

I watched them, looking as if I wanted to say something but hesitated, then lowered my head.

Yu Qingyan was very sensitive to the emotional shifts of children. She knelt down and coaxed, “What’s wrong, Yingying? Why do you seem a bit unhappy?”

I twisted my fingers together and said haltingly, “Sister Yu, yesterday… yesterday… Uncle Xu came into my room. He said he felt uncomfortable down there, and then he took off his pants and asked me to help him…”

Yu Qingyan: “??!”

Qin Baizhou: “?!!”

The smile vanished from Yu Qingyan’s face. She suppressed the furious rage in her eyes, and though her fingers tightened slightly on my shoulder, her touch remained gentle.

Her lips moved as if she were afraid of startling me. “Yingying, you’re saying… Xu Tianwei made you… Where did he touch you?!”

I looked up, my eyes becoming perfectly watery at just the right moment. I bit my lower lip, my voice growing even smaller, tinged with fear and anxiety.

“I didn’t touch him. I thought Uncle Xu was really scary then, so I… I squeezed through the crack in the door and ran away…”

My small body trembled slightly as I leaned into Yu Qingyan’s embrace, my voice breaking into a sob. “I’m scared… Sister Yu, did I do something wrong?”

Yu Qingyan visibly breathed a sigh of relief. She stroked my back rhythmically to comfort me. “No, Yingying! You didn’t do anything wrong!”

“Even if something had happened, it would never be your fault!”

“The one at fault is that beast!”

“It’s all my fault. I was negligent and didn’t protect you well enough. I can’t believe I let a beast like that into the team!”

“I was wondering why Xu Tianwei was acting out of character today, frantically slandering you. So that’s why!”

Qin Baizhou didn’t say anything. He simply knelt down and rubbed my head, his tone as gentle and lazy as ever, even carrying a hint of a smile. “Since Yingying doesn’t like Uncle Xu, how about I make sure he never appears in front of Yingying again?”

However, he couldn’t hide the cold, dark glint in his eyes.

The two of them locked eyes, both of their gazes filled with intense murderous intent.

I was slightly stunned.

In this Apocalypse, Xu Tianwei was a rare Healing Ability Superpower User, wasn’t he?

They didn’t try to gloss it over, they didn’t think I was joking, and they didn’t tell me to just endure it. They were going to kill him just like that?

While I was lost in thought, the Male Lead and Female Lead began frantically searching through the books and albums they had collected for me. After a long search, they finally found one about sex education.

They pulled me aside and spent the entire afternoon teaching me about sexual health, as well as how to avoid and fight back if something like this ever happened again.
