I looked through the peephole and was surprised to find that the bizarre family had actually called the police.

The police were currently questioning them about the situation.

The man of the house looked furious. “That bitch gave my son something to eat, and now he won’t stop saying he’s seeing ghosts! He has a high fever, too. We even consulted a master, and he said someone definitely hexed him!”

“That’s right, Officer. This woman refuses to open her door. And based on how provocatively she usually dresses, I suspect she’s running a prostitution ring in there!”

The whole family insisted that I had given their child something to eat.

They claimed I had intentionally poisoned him.

They continued to babble on, but I stopped listening.

At that moment, Xue Lele sent me a WeChat message asking if she should come out later to testify for me, saying she had seen them take my delivery.

I told her it wasn’t necessary; I had a plan.

A moment later, there was another knock on my door.

This time, I opened it quickly.

The police questioned me as a matter of routine.

I answered every question, being extremely cooperative.

Seeing me deny giving her grandson anything, the Old Woman lost it.

“Everyone knows our precious grandson loves fried chicken! Besides, the other neighbors on this floor usually order takeout for him anyway. If she ordered fried chicken, wasn’t it obviously meant for our grandson?”

She actually framed stealing someone else’s delivery as if I had ordered it specifically for her.

There were no security cameras here. If she had insisted that I brought it to their door myself, the police might have actually conducted a serious investigation.

But now, there was no need for an investigation at all.

She had just confessed.

“Officers, it’s all just feudal superstition. You know how the elderly are; I understand, and I forgive them!”

I continued, “The kid is fine, so I won’t hold a grudge. As for ghosts and all that, we have to believe in science!”

I threw their own logic back at them, using their own brand of ‘magic’ to defeat them.

The whole family was seething with rage.

They never expected that one day, they would be played by their own game.
