I never had the habit of checking up on him. In the past, Xie Mingchen would report his whereabouts to me regardless of where he went; I never even had to ask.

Besides, I always thought women who dragged people to a hotel to catch their cheating partners were pathetic. If a man has already reached that point, what’s the use in fighting over him?

But when it actually happened to me, my first instinct was still to wonder if there was some kind of misunderstanding.

Yet, when Xie Mingchen’s phone was picked up, the voice on the other end was unmistakably Chen Cheng’s.

“Put Xie Mingchen on the line,” I said, trying my best to keep my voice calm and steady.

Chen Cheng’s voice sounded innocent yet deliberate. “President Xie is already asleep.”

“Then wake him up.”

“I wouldn’t dare. He’s sleeping so soundly, just like a little child. He’s holding my hand and won’t let me leave.”

Chen Cheng’s timid, submissive tone made it sound as if she were completely helpless in this situation.

“So what do you plan on doing?” I couldn’t be bothered to maintain the peace anymore. “Crawling into his bed or sleeping with him?”

“I don’t know… he’s just so strong…”

“I suggest you cut your hand off then.” I completely lost my patience and said coldly, “Chen Cheng, I am warning you for the last time: Get out of his room right now. Otherwise, you’ll be losing a lot more than just this job.”
