Learn how reading access works on StoriesRealm, including scheduled free unlocks for long-form novels, optional early access with Coins, and completely free short stories.

Clear choices, before you read
Long-form novels follow a scheduled free-unlock model, while short stories use a different access model determined when they are published. This guide explains when you can wait for free access, when Coins provide immediate access, and how to find short stories that are completely free to read.
Long-Form Novels: Scheduled Free Unlocks
Long-form novels on StoriesRealm have scheduled free-unlock times for locked chapters.
In the chapter list, you can see:
- The number of Coins required for immediate access
- The date and time when a locked chapter is scheduled to become free
If you would like to continue reading immediately, you can unlock the chapter with Coins. If you prefer not to use Coins, you can wait until the displayed time and return to read it for free.
Good to know: The date shown as “Released on” beside a locked chapter is its scheduled free-unlock time.
For long-form novels, Coins provide optional early access. Readers who are happy to wait can follow the free-unlock schedule shown directly in the chapter list.
Short Stories: Access Is Set at Publication
Short stories do not use scheduled free-unlock times.
Their access type is determined when they are published. When a short story is published as completely free, it is added to our dedicated Free to Read collection.
Every short story carrying the Free to Read label can be read in full without using Coins.
Short stories without this label may include Coin-access chapters. Unlike long-form novels, their locked chapters do not have scheduled free-unlock times.
How to Check Reading Access
